found out after doing everything from reinstalling the game to even buying a bloody new computer! that it was Avast! Once deleted and rebooted i can now play the game
it's probably the same with other Anti Virus programs, give it a try
hey it's me again, i do not know whats been posted after my last post but here is my story haha (should make it into a film or something)
after playing Wildlands for awhile without any protection except windoze firewall i felt that i wanted to have my paid product installed again (avast!) and also to play Wildlands. Ive been through alot of trials and errors and i think ive narrowed it down - at least my problem. I have Wildlands game and Ubi launcher on my C: drive where my OS is BUT ONLY the game folder itself is not compressed and left in a uncompressed state (see below for link on how to do this). I do hope this helps some people who are finding that they can not play the game like i did.

There is no need to go to that extreme... thanks to the guy who posted this first because it made me not have to type all of this:
One feature of the Avast antivirus program is the ability to block potentially dangerous applications and executable files from running. By preventing them from operating, Avast stops them from spreading through your computer or downloading additional dangerous files to your computer. However, there are some programs that Avast incorrectly deems dangerous and blocks from running even though they are completely safe. Fortunately, there is a simple way to tell Avast which programs to exempt from blocking.
Open Avast
Double-click the "Avast" icon on your desktop or locate and run the Avast executable file on your computer to start Avast.
Navigate to Avast File System Shield
Click "Real-Time Shields" in the column on the left of the Avast interface. From the drop-down menu that appears, select "File-System Shield."
Open Up List of Exclusions
Click "Expert Settings," and then click "Exclusions." This will take you to a list of programs that are exempt from Avast's File-System Shield blocking.
Add Your Games to the List
Click the "Add" button and navigate to the .exe file of the game that Avast is blocking from running. Select the .exe and click "Open." It will now be added to the list of exempt programs and Avast will no longer prevent it from running.
yeah, tried that before and did not help... hence why i had to delete it off my system in the first placeOriginally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post
Weird... Hmmm.
another thing I try when I don't want to go through the whole exclusion thing is I turn off Avast for 10 minutes and then I have no issues starting the game... band-aid work-around for sure since you would have to do this every time but it does work
i know it was weird as i would have thought putting exclusions in would have worked! Anyhow if you have not seen yet the second post ive got it working by not having the Wildlands folder compressed and have avast running in the background at the sametime when i play the game![]()
