Would like to hear what you actually mean with "defence is too strong" because that could mean a number of things and fixing defence the wrong way will break the game.

Block isn't too strong against light attacks when people feint. Against some light attacks defence is actually too weak, especially on console.

Blocking heavy attacks is too easy because feints don't really help land a heavy.

Parry is not too easy to do but the reward for doing a parry is the most imbalanced feature in the game.

The single biggest issue with defence is the reward you get from a parry.

Boosting offence will not fix that without breaking blocks and make it a spamfest.

You need to look at parry and the reward for doing one in particular.

Please try to elaborate because a generic statement like "we think defence is too strong" doesn't really give us any clue at all.

They should increase the parry difficulty. Problem solved.

I think that is a bad idea, because there is another game mechanic called "Deflect".
Currently the deflect is "useless" because a parry gives you the same/better reward then a deflect.
But deflect has a much smaller time window then parry -> thats unfair.
Making parry harder to use, doesn't change that much because people will still get it after a time.

The best and easiest way to fix parry is to rise up the stamina cost for a parry, let's say 1/3 or 1/4 of your stamina, so you need to look at your stamina if you want to parry.
If you parry an enemy and you are out of stamina, you can't hit him in time and can't GB him.
    Bam solved!
Another thing would be to remove the GB from Parry or heavy parry.
why so? if the reward for a parry sinks, it wouldn't be abused that much.

But making it harder isn't the real deal.

I feel just light attacks should have no repercussions when blocked or parried.
You can faint attack and deliver a guard break to beat the defensive turtles but with character like valk guard breaking only sends them in to a stumble with no damage delt still able to parry, then You got peacemaker who guardbreaks for high damage.

Valk can land a heavy after a GB and combo it into shildbash.
