I didn't understand the parrying and counter guard breaking at first ether it took me a bit to get the hang of it. Stick with it and practice you will start to learn the timings of other characters attacks. What system do you play on? Counsels unfortunately can be tricky to block sometimes depending on a variety of factors. Maybe stick to just 2 characters gear them up and you should have an easier time.Originally Posted by VraguVrag Go to original post
Even if you got better ...
It is a chore to compensate s****y teammates. Be them human or AI.
https://1drv.ms/i/s!AliJi6sf-o0oiN0J_ I am trying to level and gear up my pk, while doing my daily orders. I guess the system hates me today and thinks it is funny to put dumb-bots on my team, while the enemies only run in packs.
This game can be frustrating, infuriating and downright unfair. This evening, I am close to uninstalling, because mp is not even possible if I want to play and I am stuck with bots, that have far better equipment. Leveling an alt by doing duels is like playing an unfunny asia-grinder.
Dear devs: If you read this - give us our previous bots back and fix the f****"g light spam on console.
If you're having problems learning how to parry, I suggest you start up a custom match VS a level 1 bot with damage turned off, 99 rounds and no time limit. Do nothing but focus on parrying that bot. Don't even bother with punishing the parry at first, just learn to look for the indicator to flash for you to parry. Over time you'll get used to responding to the flash as a reflex and the more you practice against different bots for parries, you'll begin to pick up the timing of when you need to parry certain attacks.Originally Posted by VraguVrag Go to original post
However, you need to be aware that people will often try to feint their unblockables so they can get a free parry. At that point, you just have to feel out when someone tries to feint their attacks and make the right guess. For that, there is no real practice other than just playing the game and learning to read your opponents. Also, don't dodge attacks as it opens you up to a free GB. Even deflecting is a gamble with minimal reward. It's often better to parry attacks because it eats up the other guys stamina. The only exception is if the assassin you're playing has no way to punish a long range class after a parry (Valkyrie, Shugoki, Lawbringer, Kensei, Nobushi all can't be GB'd after being parried).
Don't go full offence, Await your timing and be patient when your enemy makes a move. Anticipate on their move and counter them. You will find yourself in a better sustainable situation when you hold off when your enemy burns hes stamina. Then you STRIKE!Originally Posted by VraguVrag Go to original post
Wow, 99 rounds no time limit. I'm feeling 1 round will be enough, 3 rounds if ledges are on the map. XDOriginally Posted by SnugglesIV Go to original post
Seriously though, this is a good idea. I was having trouble with Nobushis, and parrying lights in general, so I went into custom match with a lvl 3 Nobushi bot for an hour and just tried to parry everything. I then went into Duels and as luck would have it I got a high rep Nobushi first off. She only landed a couple of shots on me. Practicing like this is obviously a bit tedious and human players play differently to AI, but for learning the core fundamentals it's invaluable. I just kinda wish we could program the bots a bit more. for instance. Only light attacks, or light attacks + zone, etc, would be extremely helpful.
For the OP, just practice, practice practice. In custom matches and against real players and try not to let the frustration of failures get to you. If you have a mindset that you are playing to get better and not necessarily to win it helps to lessen the sting of losses and makes you more willing to re-up when you are getting your *** handed to you. I'm an average player at best but practicing this way has helped me get somewhat better.
