I just started the Remanzo province this afternoon. I decided to go after a Kingslayer file because it was nearby. It was in the town of Marcavi.
While I am in town looking for it, a Unidad patrol chopper spots me, and won't go away. I ran through the town, alternately hiding and somehow being spotted again and again, even in buildings, while the status went from "hunted" to "engaged" to "We're clear!" from my AI teammates. I'd step out of a building, and then suddenly the chopper was on me again.
Anyway, the real reason for my post was... there is a mission called The Mule Doctors in this town. I did not know this before going there, since the Tacmap just showed the yellow intel folder, which I was nowhere near. I was just there after the Kingslayer file.
So, while running from the Unidad chopper, suddenly Bowman is telling me all about this mission, even though I didn't activate it or pick up any intel about it. Wait.. it gets better.
Apparently this is a kill mission... so... while I am running around dodging the Unidad chopper, ALL the NPCs from the mission somehow get killed, and so the mission completes! +1000 xp.
So... this mission started, played out, and ended... all without me DOING ANYTHING in regard to it. Holy cow, the game plays itself now?
So devs... PLEASE fix it so that these missions do not fire off just because I am in the vicinity. Missions (story missions, that is) should never begin until I choose to begin them!
Or just driving nearby on your way to something completely unrelated. It has happened to me a few times and ended up respawned in a field a few hundred meters away.Originally Posted by Rufus37 Go to original post
Same here. Earlier I ran across a convoy by chance and chased after it, and in the ensuing battle suddenly I get "Their LT is trying to run" and then moments later "target is too far away" -- failed mission. WTF? I still don't know what mission that was supposed to be for, since I ended up at a rebel hideout supposedly nearby but not really.
