How to restore Faction War balance and competetiveness

Faction war is a joke now. I think we can agree on that. The initial imbalance in player base divided between the faction is only becoming deeper and deeper simply because nobody wants to join a losing faction. So people simply google and get informed about which faction to join to reap the rewards and many many please does just that. People who don't still have just a 33% chance or lower to join the least populated (and most in need) faction.

And let's face it. I doesn't matter how well you do as a player or how good you are. Faction war is won by deploying war assets. Numbers. Games played. If team instict has 1000 players and team valor has 3500 players, team instic can never compete is faction war. Current base gets even more disencouraged and either quits the game, leaves the faction, or simply stops manually deploying assets altogether (I'm a knight and I know I haveb't deploy the assets manually in like 3 weekes beacuse simply no point).

How to stop this madness? Even the numbers of players scattered between the factions.

Of course you can't force people to join a specific faction nor you can't make someone migrate as this would cause an outrage. But what if you could encourage new players to even the numbers themselves or for current players to joing losing faction by their own choice?

Simple. The least populated faction (therefore losing) should have a "recruitment drive" status:
    - New players joining the least populated and successfull faction receive free 2 weeks of Champion status and all heroes of the chosen faction are already recruited (no need to pay 2000 steel for them)
    - Existing players switching from more populated to a faction with recruitment drive will suffer no faction change penalty and also receive 2 weeks of Champion status nad 2 scavenger crates (migration possible only once per season)

Of course it should only take active players into account (who played x average of game within past week) for the purpose of determining disbalances in player base between faction.

Furthermore if the player deficit is exceeding certain % (for example if Knights have 20% less players than the second least populated faction) all active players should receive a assets deployment increase of 15%. They would still be in disadventage but at least now a losing faction could still put out a fight if they play enough.

Yes. It's that easy. Give players encouragement to join a losing faction or simply watch your meta game die along with 1/3 of the player base.

I kinda expect responses only from players who belong to knight faction, beacuse if someone is already in a winning faction I doubt they would support this idea as this would endanger their adventage. So 22 views and zero responses because no Knights are even viewing this forums? That's a little sad.

The faction war really doesn't bother me right now and I'm in the knight's faction. What really bothers me is the on again off again status of online play. Yesterday me and my little brother were trying to get some orders done and not only would it not allow us to group together the que times were insanely high. Then when I would find a game I would get disconnected shortly after that, which caused me to hang it up for the night. I'll be back at it again today and hopefully things will be working, but faction war fairness is the least of my worries if I can't even play the game. Once that's corrected and we get a more stable playerbase maybe then they will look at how to balance the faction war.

Oh yeah? I think there is nothing to fix about the servers if nobody is playing the game anyway as everyone left due to no meta game.

Well if you don't fix the connection issues it kind of makes the meta game irrelevant don't you think? I mean people can't compete and participate in the faction war if they can't even complete matches to contribute assets.

As a Knight myself I think you made some good suggestions. It is going to be really hard to make someone on the winning faction to change to another faction but with good rewards I think it can happen.

Exactly how we all knew. Vikings have won season 1. Congratulations to them. Numbers will always win the war due to how faction system currently work.

Now even more people will SWITCH AND JOIN VIKINGS in the offseason. The metagame is now officially dead.

Or limit the exclusive rewards to the characters of that faction!

It always confused me why they gave the choice of faction in the first place. Surely it would be better if your faction was a result of your character choice rather than jumping ship to whoever is winning - which will happen!

This will also save 2/3 of the assets for later use...

Looks like a bulsht man. There is NO winning or loosing faction in the game, only PLAYERS who play and fight for their faction CAN MAKE it winning !
And i think noone chose their faction base of how strong it is. Who like Knights - join Knights, like Samurai/Japan style/Anime - join Samurais, and if u like primal tribes, and mighty wild badass girls - u join Vikings, thats all.
For solve the problem of those glore's, who wana join winning, i gues the price for winning must be only for a 1 factions(Vikings or another) heroes. Not so big reward anymore, but it can be more quality with less count.
So this means that if player play only Samurai heroes and wana join winning faction of Vikings - you will got nohting from it, cuz you dont play vikings heroes at all. But if he do - you already must be in the Vikings faction.
