Proving Hard cable is more effective. Testing with N600 Router at 3ft with direct line of sight. BEST CASE

Did set up everything especially for the game too. Disconnects are incredible rare by now. 1 of 30 games .. maybe even less.

You have to open ports when there is a hardware firewall.

On another note, that's a lot of ports that need to be opened. You could easily just put the IP in DMZ and save some time.

Sure you could. But with multiple devices in the connected list and the xbox going off if the router registers something else in that IP that device will not be covered by a firewall from the router. This way it limits to just the ports being forwarded so far safer if you have say a PC that you play For Honor with. DMZ wouldn't be the best option in that case.
