I have beaten the game 100% and besides knowing that my character name is Nomad... I have no background information at all on myself, or any of my teammates. I honestly know more about Sueno and the cartel than I do myself. I think background information on this team and Bowman would have went a long way in this game. I don't even know the names of my teammates, therefor there is a huge disconnect in the game. When a teammate goes down in a gun fight I almost don't care, they are more like strangers that just tagged along for the mission or something.
I just wished the game did a lot better job of telling a compelling story and really drove character development. I had no care in the world for my team, I can't tell you their names, where they came from, if we worked together in the past before... Nothing! It's kind of disappointing. I really like the game, and I still do however, it is very shallow! No depth at all. Maybe this is because this game was developed with mainly co-op in mind? Is the only way to get this information is through the Mobile App, or Book that released not to long ago? If so then that's kind of a shame... it should be in the game.
Wildlands encourages multi player so that your team is you and three other players, the three Ghosts are filler when you play single player but once you join a another person they are gone. Nomad he/she can be anyone you want them to be. You want a back story for Nomad make one up post it in your profile or better yet in the Community Created section create thread called what is your Ghosts back story.
According to the original Ghost Recon, developed by Red Storm Entertainment, who at the time were owned by Tom Clancy; the Ghosts belong to the 1st Bn. D Co. 5th Special Forces Group (SFG).
They most likely don't want to broadcast that because the person playing the game may ask, "why am I being given a Division outfit if I'm a US Army Special Forces Soldier." You may ask yourself "why do I have all these weapons to pick from if I'm an American SF soldier? Am I trained on how they work? Yes. But why do I want a weapon not in the US inventory?"
Oh I know, because they don't want to sell this game to the world gaming community where someone my take issue with that. Or how about, let's give the player in Britain a British rifle, the French player a FAMAS, the Chinese player and German player their rifles, while completely erasing the FACT that the characters in this game since 2001 have been from the 1st Bn. D Co. 5th SFG.
Tango-One, OVER and OUT.
There's a book, the synopsis mentions Nomad and his new squad.

I wanted to buy from the playstore but it's not available in my country.
Actually the ghosts in the first game included british, german, swedish and georgian forces membersOriginally Posted by TangoOneActual Go to original post
Wildlands' story was a MAJOR letdown for me, sadly. Could've been a love-letter to Clancy in the vein of A Clear and Present Danger but it totally lacks an engaging narrative.
Also love the absolute pedantry going on around here in this thread. If these guys were real black ops they'd probs be rocking AKs and Chinese rifles - it really doesn't matter.
And Cosmo is right either way. Would love to see the multinational element come back in another title.
Sure, call it the French Foreign Legion game I don't care. This game, is game about American soldiers, US special forces, green berets.
I don't give a flying f@ck about any other countries armed forces. You don't like that, tough. You don't like my attitude, oh well, I don't like how a French company f@cked up a great game about US soldiers.
I served my country and fought for my country and take pride in its armed forces and those things that are suppose to represent those forces.
I'll say again, I care about my country, this game represents US forces, don't like that, or you want your country represented, play the Legion game and go fight the Viet Min or Algerians, and we can all feel good because we belong to an organization where our nationalities are subordinate to the whole.
This games characters are from the 1st Bn., D Co., 5th SFG, USA.
You can find bios for the Ghosts, Karen Bowman, and several cartel buchones on the game's website.
The unit was dissolved and reformed under the title Group for Specialized Tactics at some point prior to Future Soldier, though.Originally Posted by TangoOneActual Go to original post
