Is that enough? Thats hella hilarious. We might be like 3/4 of the playerbase, yet they don't care.
i don't think it will ; did the division ever grow back up to it's former glory?
best we can do is try to enjoy it until another title steals the show.
questionable decisions were made ; tough to come back from. (only have one chance to make a first impression)
i hope consoles stop being popular someday ; it's really slowing PC gaming down.
They have to fix the connection issues and poor matchamking before we try to get players back into the game.
New player experience is generally quite poor when you are matched against people you cannot compete with. I have an ongoing mission to get every character to at least Rep 1, and this week is Berserker week. Decided to see if I could handle 4 vs 4 with players at level 14 with level 7 gear. The answer was no.
If you could play against other low level / gear players on your low level character, then the game would be a lot more welcoming and forgiving and enjoyable for new players and those without gear. I have been fighting people in PvP games for a looooong time, but rarely in situations like this where you are so badly outmatched by higher level players with far better gear and stats.
Had a game just last night on my Rep 7 character with two team mates who were also Rep 7+ with 108 gear. Two of the opposing team were level 1's. The level 1's quit and were replaced with Bots a couple of minutes into the game.
Level 1 is when you farm Kobolds just outside Stormwind for the 2 copper they drop so that you can buy an Iron Sword. Not when you PvP with the level 100 raid geared pro players.
Those issues aside, they either like the game or they don't. You can lead a horse to water ...
They could give all classes 1-3 more moves so players have more options in engaging a fight instead of doing the same combo because I think one of the main reasons people left is because players slowly acknowledged that if they keep doing the same 1-2 safe moves they win every engagement and those who didn't play like that kept dying to the same cheese, get frustrated and quit playing because their movelist is so bare bones.
This is stupid. You would have only a tiny portion of games, budget etc. You would bash the "low end PC gamers" instead. See the numbers, conosle gaming is an incredible strong marked with incredible exclusive games on almost all platforms. Of course, at some point, people will have their "streaming box" that does whatever they pay for. But thats some years away still.Originally Posted by teksuo1 Go to original post
I myself use a rather powerful PC, mainly for work though. I might possibly replace it with one of the new microsoft ones that allow me to draw / type whatever on their big screen, though it still is kinda expensive 3000 EUR+). But pc is work and console free time.
Besides i got a laptop for more demanding mobile use and a tablet (lenovo yoga book) for study surfing and "leisure"stuff where ever i am.
So why the heck do I play on console?
I don't like cheaters.
Currently, PS4 got some hella amazing exclusives i'd never like to miss out.
I like an even playing field.
I enjoy the numbers and fast match making thanks to them.
More individual moves for each hero would be very swell.Originally Posted by Helnekromancer Go to original post
There are exclusivities on console only because Sony (mostly) buys those a lot so console gamers (lol if we can call them like that) do not go elsewhere. But by slowing gaming down, I think he was referring to the low performance of today console. They are barely able to keep up with low end pc of 2-3 years ago.
1) Fix server issues and some more exploits/balance issues
2) Free Play weekend eventually when things are fixed
3) Spectator Mode. This is a must. Its painful to set up tournament matches when you have to throw off a spectator/mod every round.
On top of spectator mode, when they do release it, they should plan a tournament alongside it to show it off. They need some sort of positive publicity, a Ubisoft sponsored tournament with server/balance fixes and working spectator mode will draw viewers. Throw in a free play weekend either following the tournament or simultaneously.
