Skill or Connection .. what wins?

Does anyone experience that same Hero, but different player = not same attack animations / speed?

My experience: Enemy Orochi, which have so fast attack that it often go through guard and almost impossible to block on react. Different enemy, but again Orochi, much slower attack speed so I can easy parry almost every attack.

    The question is WHY?

Is this game based on connection? In some posts, some ppls have video evidence that sometimes you can see "frameskipping". Looks like anti-lag mechanism skip frames so some attack looks very fast so you have no so much time to react.

Because this game is full of bugs, crashes and have tons of stability issues ... this is another joke from devs.

First of all, sorry for double posting but I had to check if this will get bumped also, didn't want to create a new thread so replying to this very old one.

I've been wondering lately if I'm really bad at this game i.e. what can be done to 'git gud' apart from repeatedly fighting L3 bots in training.

Then something struck me during a Duel match; I could actually react properly to my opponent's moveset! Unlike previous pairings, the game itself seemed fluid/responsive for the very 1st time since I've started playing.
This means that most of my previous frustrations were not caused by my terrible lack of skill, bad configuration with closed ports, latency or an old 60hz TV, but by a miss-match between my input <> connection/server <> opponent animation which leaves little or no time for a proper reaction at best, and a disastrous chain of bad 'decisions' at worst.

I really have no idea how to find a fix for this.. Am I supposed to hope for a semi-playable match each time I hit the Play button?

I've had the exact same issues, unplayable input lag, and it seems my opponents have somewhat more control than I in the situation.

Ridiculous input lag that had me struggling to input with Warden, the least input heavy fighter in the game?
Most fights came down to who could game the input lag better than the other.

I played from the Oceania (Australia) region so I imagine that was the issue, as it has been since open beta; very disappointing.
Led to me refunding the game even though I love the concept.

I have no idea if it's because I'm playing with players from other regions, even though pings have roughly been the same, or if it's server side issues. I know there's lag compensation, however the input lag doesn't seem to correlate as I've watched streams where it's far more smoother with no frame skipping on opponent inputs.

Don't think I can refund.. Found a workaround though; hard quitting each and every game that exhibits this problem. Someone might as well ban me outright For Honor!
