Ok so this may be an unpopular opinion, but I would like to see others opinions of the patch notes. I won't list the specifics of the patch but I will sort of summarize.
Are there any other players that feel a lot of the changes, the buffs especially, in this patch are mostly a non issue? The revenge gear changes were very welcome and so far make the gear modes feel MUCH better IMO. The nerfs were sort of ok, but lets look at the reality.
WL nerfs seem pretty good, not too sure how they work in practice as I don't play WL but I feel like headbutt is easier to dodge and can actually be punished if avoided properly so this is good. PK nerfs though, the zone change is good, keep it fast but not as spammable and not nearly as cancerous in revenge so good change. But What was the point of the side dodge attack nerf? This change will not affect high level at all, never once have I thought this attack was an issue in the least, I mean it's a free parry for the most part. On to Conq, yeah he's RIP, they made his only tool easily punished and I agree it needed to be punishable. But they did not give him near enough to compensate so now this class will fall to bottom tier in 1v1 I feel.
On to the buffs, the kensei buffs while welcome do not change the fact that his finisher mixup game is still easily reactable no matter what he chooses to do. Swift strikes are still GB punishable on block? Even if they weren't this move is a free parry like most side dodge attacks so being able to chain into finisher is pretty much a non issue except against the now punishable conq shield bash. Side lights are still too slow to see use so really the only useful change here is Helm splitter chain into finisher, but again against skilled players the finisher mixup is pretty meh. I can see his changes causing some salt in low-mid lvl play but almost completely useless in higher lvl play.
Zerker "buff", nuff said really lol. His change makes almost 0 difference in how this character will be played or his usefulness at any lvl of play.
LB buffs, he got way more buffs but I'm gonna keep it short. The only changes he got that matter at all are the light attack after shove is faster(also seems like there is an unintended bug of some kind that makes this light guaranteed in some situations but not consistently). And then the side heavy after long arm, But in reality in 1v1 situations it is VERY unlikely you will land a long arm but in teamfights it is more beneficial to continue spamming longarm while your team does the damage instead of using your side heavy. The parry move changes are ok, nothing too crazy. All the other changes are to hit that come later in his attack chains which means they are almost a complete non issue once again at higher lvl play. Like with the kensei I can see these changes being more useful at lower-mid level play but almost completely ineffective for higher lvl play. That is aside from what I assume is an unintended bug that allows him to get a guaranteed light after shove in some situations which if it can be made consistent could be quite busted.
So to me it seems all of the "buffs" will pretty much only prove to actually be buffs in lower-mid lvl play while leaving higher lvl play unchanged. Then Only 2 of the nerfs, headbutt, and PK zone are actually decent since the conq nerf pretty much neutered the entire character.
Anyone else have thoughts?
A side note as well, why hasn't zone flicker been fixed yet?
