I understand the concept of roles completely as all heroes are made that way some more so than others. Whether I am dueling, in a skirmish, or playing 4 v 4 I understand I will have to take the approach and improvise based on what opportunities I am given. After all that’s the whole point and where skill comes in to play. In regard to people comparing the assassins, people do complain and some of the complaints I believe are valid while others are just as some others said they are just moaning. It is difficult not to compare the heroes that are within the same class and the players who are versed enough in the mechanics understand this. But for someone to state it’s not the game it’s the players themselves is complete ********, it’s both. This whole cluster **** was created by the meta. We will just have to be patient and see how it plays out. I know I plan on continuing to play my Orochi no matter what. I played him when he was the hot commodity just as I am now that is average at best. If you can take an average hero and do above average things on a consistent basis than it’s a good sign and I am not just talking about me either. I have ran in to a lot of good players, have beat many good players, as well as been beaten by good players. It is all about the thrill of competition and obviously we all feel passionate about this game or we wouldn’t be on this forum in the first place. I am being 100% honest here. I love fighting games I always have and this is one of the only games that had me in a rage at times. I believe for noncombat oriented players have a difficult time adjusting to the mechanics and the learning curve.
I'm getting pretty hyped for the upcoming Orochi buff. Which sucks because it's probably going to be something lame like that one buff where Riptide Strike back dodged a few inches farther back.
Sigh... well between the Orochi Buff and Offense overhaul patch, I have two chanced to get something good... or be disappointed twice as badly...
Speaking of Riptide, if it were buffed, how would you like that to be done?
I'd like the ability to cancel/feint riptide (ie: it can be canceled after the backdash, but before striking forward),
and 2nd, if the attacks lands, the long recovery lock removed or reduced - but only if the attack lands. (You don't want to riptide a REV'd opponent as it is currently, since they won't be staggered on the hit and you're left exposed for all kinds of retaliation).
It depends on what the move is supposed to be. If Riptide is supposed to be a situational option like it is now, then I'd just make it do a lot of damage. Maybe give it top lights as a followup just like Storm Rush or ZA if they're already blocking up. It definitely has to be better than parry since it has so many downsides.Originally Posted by Brologna_Xeno Go to original post
Making it cancelable or something drastic like that would indicate the move is supposed to be more than a gimmick. Not sure if making it cancellable would be good. It's already hitting from light so cancelling it into ZA would cost too much stamin and they could just CGB if that was the intended mixup. It would be better for StormRush IMO since it already hits from the side and could cancel into top lights and GB. As is, I would definitely make Riptide immune to GBs. It makes no sense that an attack that cant be feinted can be GBen. None. I guess give it more damage, unblockable and/or armor. Right now it's just a bad version of parry.
I do like your suggestion to make it recover faster on hit. I never thought of that since I've been dueling mostly.
I second this I'm only two one rochi but man for how much slower he is CA other assassins he should be able to take a hit better ...I mean just look at it he's the only one wearing armor ...he's the one of the slower assassins as far as I know...and when I'm rocking Kensei it feels like I kill rochies way faster than zerks....IDK maybe it's just me...?Originally Posted by V3LSPYR3- Go to original post
No, for me itis one of the heroes a kill fsater and with less problems.
Perhaps i misunderstand something, but for my feelings, assasins should be aggressive heroes, not just reactive ones.
Berserker is a pushing one, and now is very good at it with Hyperarmour and deflect.
PK is a mobile assassins with bleed, and she is doing a good job.
Orochi should use defelct to not interrupt its attack chain, but you can barely attack and defelct to get an UB is not worthy.
