So, I have both the MSR and the HTI. which is better? I like taking out infantry from long distances, and it seems that the MSR has less bullet drop. But I don't want to switch between the MSR and the HTI to take out a helicopter. Especially in co op, when pausing doesn't stop the game. I also like the MSR because it can have an extended magazine and long barrel. what are your guys thoughts on the ever going issue of snipers?
2 different purpose Both have advantages and disadvantages,Originally Posted by BlitzBoy526 Go to original post
AS far which one is better? that depends on what you are doing with it,
i THINK they are equal
I dont prefer the HTI, I am a traditionalist, I like my mag in front of the trigger group not behind. Also there is something very rewarding about bolt action rifles, plus the MSR is gorgeous to look at like a fine .... nevermind.. its a good gun. I never liked bullpups let alone semi auto sniper rifles. Dont get me wrong, from a technical stand point the Desert Tech rifle is a modern day marvel in firearm technology, a real nail puncher to be sure ! This is just my preference.
This convo is missing the point. The real question is what is better, damage or penetration. Because that is the real difference ingame. They both seem to do 1 shot kills. But will the msr penetrate 2 tangos better than the hti due to its higher penetration stats? Will the hti do more "damage" to vehicles due to its higher damage stats? How are these things programmed and what is better in what situation? That's the real discussion.
hello, if you want to be anti infantry at long ranges? out of the two id take the msr. 10 round clip equals ten infantry kills b4 reloading. i have full vehicle damage so choppers take two shots anywhere but there is always the chance of popping the pilot in 1,and if the choppers taken any damage already 1 will finish it off. not having vehicle damage maxed will make a big difference to killing choppers, and being unsuppressed is essential for quick kills.Originally Posted by BlitzBoy526 Go to original post
with long barrels and 6x scopes on both hti and msr bullet drop is about the same at 600m ( i think, i dont use the hti for long range much myself ).
hti will do 5 infantry kills a clip or 5 choppers. the instant killing power against vehicles is great but im allergic to reloading that much. (except el cuentista. could reload that all day long mmmmmm).
if your not bothered with stealth too much i personally recommend the m1891 with 20 rnd clip, 6x scope, compensator and standard barrel for out to 300m. long barrel beyond 300m. shes not as powerful as the big boys but still does one shot kills against 95% of infantry and 3 shot kills on choppers and most vehicles. and she makes me smile.
anti infantry, take an msr
anti vehicle, take an hti
wanna look like a hero and sound like a cannon? take the m1891.
oh and for gsmoneymaster24. pretty sure iv nailed up to three unidad with the same bullet with both hti and msr (both long barrels, unsuppressed) also had kills through multiple vehicles and walls with both.
iv had two kills one bullet with my m1891 standard barrel. and it goes through most things ok but longer barrel is better hands down for penetration.
from my own experimentation i believe barrel length has a much greater effect on penetration than is displayed in the stats! standard acr barrell goes thru concrete barricades. short barrel does not. not much change in penetration stat tho?
Well, if the problem is switching weapons you pretty much answered your question yourself. Stick to the HTI. I do recommend you try the SR25 with a G28 scope, specially considering the darned render distance, as far as snipers go, you only find DM range engagements anyway.Originally Posted by BlitzBoy526 Go to original post
