yeah and you have no idea how to balance a game. So stick to your degree.

You are both right and wrong.

League of Legends does exact same thing for balancing; look at win %x and try to pull it to %50 for all champions.

The thing is they have ranking tiers, and they have data for each champion's win rate in each ranking tier. So for example Ryze had ok win rate at low elo, but high win rate at high elo. So they nerf the skill ceiling requiring benefits he has, and his noob version is still as good, but pro version nerfed.

Problem here is that average Joe's win rate and xXxW0rlDPR0xXxx win rate's are considered in same pool of data.

Are you sure about that? I am not quite sure what stream you watched but the one I saw had two charts based on different tiers in their mu calculaton, the second one the top 10-15%

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time this dude has made a post about buffing Orochi.

Not to mention I see him posting about how UP orochi is in almost every valance thread.

Move along folks, nothing to see here.

True story? I saw one of those advanced guides for the orochi on youtube (know yourself and know your enemy and all that good art of war sun tzu stuff), I am scared of the players that know storm rush and the over the top attack where they step back first are defensive/counter attack tools and know how to use them as such. When I start meeting them I am going to have to remember that I no longer get free bleed.

My friend mains orochi and ducks my bleeds half the time. I know your pain. A good orochi will turn me into a light spamming scrub in a heart beat.

I think their approach to balancing is a smart one. They listen to the pro's. The look into match data. They read what's on the forums. And that's real issues as well as crybabies concerns. So honestly, try to get your stuff straight and if you poll, do so seriously and unbiased for a constructive discussion.
Exactly - but you can't talk like that 'round these parts, the balance experts will lynch you.

"The results show that the PK doesn't have the win rate that I thought it would have but that doesn't suit my own conclusions from anecdotal observations and the things that people whine about on the forums so it mustn't be correct"

You are right, I can barely watch with their accent (no offense) so skip it forward alot, I missed that part.

But without rankings what do they base their tiers on, KD rate only?

Yeah player performance in terms of win/loss, it will likely be more useful when they have ranked. They do need to look more at high level play though, they have far more matchups that fall out of their target 45-55% range than average Joe playing after work.

Yes ranked would make alot more sense, over KD. Especially when duels ends with a close result. This is excluding any 4v4 modes, where fast runners engage in more combat and boost/*** up their KD by fighting more than slowpokes camping bases.

I like LoL style balancing, each champ has a difficulty tier of their own from the moment of their release; and champs with low skill ceiling are balanced to be %50 for both average joe and LCS players. Whereas high skill ceiling ones are balanced around diamond/challenger performance.
