That game was created with a competitive scene in mind. Competitive means mid and high tier level feedback onto adjustments.
Like in everygame, the low level players, which generally represent the majority, will leave the game fast enough. Low tier people got no real clues about the game, they just play 2 hours a day to have fun, not to train. There is no importance to equilibrate a game with their feedback. On top of that, Ubisoft won't make money following low tier complaints.
The new Helm Splitter string feels natural, fitting. I'm glad.Originally Posted by Epoqx Go to original post
Wish they had done something different with Swift Strike string or have just left it alone, tbh (could have increased light 2nd hit connect speed and/or brought back the fast top heavy it use to have).
I would like to point out to people who think this buff actually solves Kensei's problem.
The buff he received today is a good one, no doubt. However, it did not help Kensei much in high level play.
Here is why.
Swift Strikes can still give enemy a free GB when blocked. This means that Kensei still cannot use this move as opener against skilled player. The risk is just too high. The reward certainly has been increased, but for how easy it is for enemy to block it and deal heavy damage back, it is still not really usable unless used as counter attack.
Helm Splitter is still hard to land against a player that knows the match up well. Good players would station their guard on the top when fighting against Kensei. There is really nothing he can do to catch people off guard with any of his side attacks. Even with the buffs to his side lights, they are still not fast enough to actually hit people or stop them from camping top guard in neutral.
The only new option Kensei gets from this buff is the ability to whiff helm splitter, or swift strike into unblockable. But that requires you to be quite far from the target, so it isn't something that makes enemy drops a cold sweat.
The buff today made Kensei even deadlier when he gains the momentum. He can really overwhelm enemy when he gets the ball rolling. However, he still lacks the ability to actually open up enemy defense. He can now snowball like a boss, but it really doesn't matter if he can't even get a ball rolling to begin with.
and that is the problem Kensei has been facing since the beginning. Hopefully Ubi gives it some thought and look deeper into Kensei's problem.
Nontheless, it is a welcomed buff. Kensei player will definitely enjoy the new tools. And hopefully, more to come in the future.
Absolutly right. The buffs are a good step in the right way but they should make the sidestep attack save on block. Than kensei can be More aggressive and can try to open the enemy.Originally Posted by GiganticKORAK Go to original post

To make the kensei rly catch up with the top five they habe to do 2 things. They want that he is the feitn master so than give him a save swiftstrike on block and and Here is the ultimative suggestion to make the kensei s Claas char, let helmsplitter go on with the chain EVEN IT IS BLOCKED. They said they give him the UB on the 2. hit to do Mord mindgames. Thats gold idea but its useless when ur enemy still turtle like ****. But if the chain from helmsplitter go on still when its Blockes u can do the mindgame and force the enemy to react and and the turtle game on the kensei ...
