Why nerf conq really? Give him a rework with his kit to have more options like the other tanks have. As the #1 conqueror in the world on Xbox and up an down globally. I have to say I really enjoy the conqueror despite his lack of damage and very very easy to punish attacks. Yea sure the heavy swing+ shield bash is alright it can easily be dodged. Both the swing and the shield bash. Both shield bashes in fact. The light chain one and the heavy chain one are just easy to dodge when playing against a skilled opponent or pretty much any assassino type character. I also want to discuss some potential changes and suggestions to the conqueror kit that make sense. First of all I want everyone to think of what happens when you hit someone with a flail that has a sword. It wraps around it to which the user can be disarmed, opponent be disarmed, opponent can be reeled in closer for a quick bottom pummel bash, and provide some extra damage because of the sole fact it's a flail wrapping around a weapon that may hit the opponent. A small reference I'll use here is that from a scene from kingdom of heaven when the Knights try to assassinate the main character. Oh and my god I got so excited when I saw the conqueror drop down from a horse and attempt to bring THE PAIN. Unfortunately if you watch the scene conqueror becomes disarmed because the "wrapping around effect" then gets a peacekeeper's dagger to the face.RIP. Another good thought is if your getting hit with a massive flail charged up I expect there to be some crunch behind the swing if it connects like from Lord of the rings return of the King https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dQ_-rmuPZC4. Where there's a 1v happening between a sword wielding valk and the King of conquerors with a sword an flail. I'll just leave out the sword and focus on the flail. While during the execution phase and looking like a complete bad *** he receives a peacekeeper dagger to the back. Got to love them. She gets her shield ROCKED by a heavy swing (could have been the lv 2 charge) and she is also stunned. I expect that to happen if you're blocking that size of a flail, not the whole shield breaking but the stun from the massive blow. It's close enough in a sense to be in line with the shugoki unblockable swing if there was like a lv 3 charge. I could be pushing it but one could hope because of evidence. Lastly, I want to talk about the chain aspect to the flail and the possible options it can do that make sense. I know I talked about wrapping around a sword but what about something else? Like a leg sweep. Now don't all start yelling and hollering at once. After seeing the "wind up"execution where the conqueror sweeps the leg and just throws hell down on someone's body. It got me thinking. A flail has a chain why not use it? Let's create a mix up or some kinda combo to add to his arsenal to make him more versatile and fresh in his tank like combat style. Maybe instead of the stupid slow attacking and easy to punish light attack simplicity combo why not add another option like after the 2nd light is thrown sweep with the chain or wrap with the chain to reel them in. Meaning light x2+ guard break would be a new one. Have the name of the combo be like "conqueror them". LOL. Something cool. Have the wrap and reel be like "get over here !" Let's be honest. This would be bad ***, but like I said I could be asking for too much but it would solve the problems of the running away characters *cough* assassinos. Plus I want to think if they would add a mortal kombat Easter egg they would maybe consider using a scorpion type name for a combo like the one I'm hoping will come true. There's the ninja though so *sigh* he may get something along those lines. I know this is kinda sounding more like a monster buff like the lawbringer overhaul he's getting. Yay for that. What about the fact that he's consider a heavy right. Conqueror is considered a heavy why not make it to where I can kill someone at one bar of health without using other methods. The point is to just make the conqueror less dull and more fun to play with.Now that the most recent patch is live I'm not too impressed really given the circumstances of not being able to block at least from the top. Compared to the valk, my god you try hitting her while her super long range charge is heat seeking you, she can block pretty much any attack. On the other hand they listened to giving my fellow conqueror brothers a slight recovery and damage buff. I would like to see more now knowing that even in shield bashing from riposte or a heavy I'm not safe, which is understandable. Give us a little more offense please. I hope the devs consider these ideas and other people as well.
I play the conqueror and love it but I have to admit he's becoming hard to manage in duel against average and good player. Mostly his gameplay resume in patience and countering to gain for sure a light attack....It's clearly boring and don't reflect what a strong defender can do !!!!
Step by step what should be add or developed in actual conqueror gameplay:
Defense :
1) a blocking actually open to a free guard break except if the opponent get a light attack that is quick enough to hit the conq before the grab (like orochi double top light). You should replace the freeguard break after blocking by a quick light attack response that would just give to conqueror some space. It exist on the conqueror for heavy and need a really good timing to perform it. Same thing here, during the after blocking gap, the conqueror player should press light attack in a proper timing to have a reply.
2) The total defense really need to be reworked! Let consider the use of it to be a panic button (what I think fit to what conqueror would think about it). Instead of this shield bash that is poorly usable, place a stunt hit that could be activated only if the total defense is hitted.
Oppening :
1) Dodging: actually a really good way to surprise the opponent is to place the dodge before a shield bash at the moment the conq is gonna be hitted. It's a bit like the perfect dodge of the assassins. This move could be rewarded by a stunt.
2) Shield bash: we will see how punitive is the free guard break if te conqueror miss his shield bash. I think it's interesting because conqueror will have to be more prudent with these move when close to wall or pit BUT it should be possible to cancel it and perform a guard break try !!!!
Keep the damage of the conqueror and his low stamina to calm the player and keep him cautious but add some tools based on timing to reward proper skills with it. It's the case of almost all heroes except for the conqueror !!!!! You have some idea above.

Conq is a symptom of the larger problem. The defense meta. There is no penalty from sitting there, and therefor, most people will. Turtlers need to be punished, and then things like this will stop.
BTW, in the course of the fight I tried both of these openers. They dont work. Sorry, but the only way to fight conq is usually with unblockable attacks.
