I mean, there is a lack of enemies out in the wilds. I am running through the jungle thinking "how beautiful, but how empty..."
Now what about hunting? Of course, first animals in Wildlands would need some real models (you can actually walk through them...) Then, we'd need some hunting side missions. Get some new ressources and stuff. Maybe even sort of survival mode (why not?) Just use this beautiful world. Hunting in Far Cry 4 was pretty cool. We could follow tracks, we could hunt them, but they could hunt us down, too.
I'm sorry to say, but - for the aggressive animals hunting us down part - No.
I didn't like how it was implemented in Far Cry 4 but I accepted it because it was thematic to the gameplay. For Wildlands, it would negatively affect the stealth aspect of the gameplay with interruptions that - instead of being challenging - are annoying and would discourage certain play styles.
I Love Wildlands for providing us the tools to deal with challenges in any way we would deem fun, and having aggressive animals that would hunt us down would be very deterrent to play styles that involve setting up solutions (which would get screwed over by random creatures spawning nearby and forcing us to break our stealth).
However, I do like the idea of hunting as it would provide another means to gathering resources rather than tagging resources found in houses, factories and et cetera.
However however, adding animals would mean adding a different variant of NPCs into the game (i.e. the game has to process a new/specific AI in masses for animals to be around and to act realistically). This may cause lag to the game or cause an overall frame rate drop (which everyone will hate); in fact, I think this is why the current animal AI is pretty dumb (aside from the llamas who spit on you and - by that - are humourous).
Just to get me right - for the basic Ghost Recon idea, I agree with you guys. That's also why I didn't include this idea into my topic to make it a better Ghost Recon game.
But hey, we are getting a race DLC - that doesn't fit into a Ghost Recon. either. This isn't the Ghost Recon we knew anymore. So why not fill the world with more activities?Originally Posted by Cappydude Go to original post
And please gtfo with these "then go play Far Cry 4" comments. I want to play Wildlands, not Far Cry.
