Crikey, that is really bad. Looks like a cheap attempt at Burnout (I miss that game). Why is it that open world games always resort to races. You have a huge open world, a giant sandbox, and the best they can deliver are races. I used to love GTAO but that's now become Mario Kart meets Forza (with Running a Business for Dummies thrown in) and has totally gone so far away from the crime sim it used to be. I now see the same happening here - with race updates, new tracks, faster cars, blah blah blah. It would be nice for once if a company that made an open world sandbox game actually decided to try some new things; lead the rest rather than follow.
No ... no I think Ubisoft are out of touch.Originally Posted by postwick Go to original post
Part of the problem is chasing the $$$...
You only need look at how they design more and more of their games - For Honour is a great example.
Chk this for how they try and screw us!

Also, I think they misinterpret a lot of their feedback.
For example, Watchdogs 1 was criticised, among other things, for being too serious, the central character was 'humourless' .
So Ubisoft filters this and think,
SERIOUS = NO FUN
NO FUN = NO $$$
So in reaction to this, they made WatchDogs2 more 'FUN'...
Only Ubisoft continually think FUN = GTA (i.e the 'special sauce') .
Unfortunately, the writers at Ubisoft are clearly a bunch clueless hacks who have no idea how to write dialog, and mistake swearing for authenticity.
Watchdogs 2 didn't sell well.....
Again, unfortunately Narco Road is clearly an attempt to appeal to a broader audience whilst leaving hardcore fans cold.
So yeah, when you think about it, they are increasingly out of touch and it could start to lose them $$$ .....
EA/DICE did this with the reboot of Star Wars Battlefront. Heavy online only PVP and minimal solo experience, by excluding the staple offline mode of the originals.Originally Posted by LaMOi Go to original post

As I said in another thread. Racing in this game could be fun. Especially if we can create our own. There is so many roads and not. The races could be endless. However. I don't want that to be part of the missions. This is a ghost recon game game afterall. Leave the racing stuff there for when I'm bored and goofing off with friends
I was hoping they would spend their efforts in making the map more dynamic. A push and pull for struggle over any location. When one high value target goes down another one, in time, takes their place. Maybe they believe the daily, weekly, month challenges will fill that role. Time will tell I suppose.Originally Posted by shotbyron Go to original post
That's why GTA exists...Originally Posted by shotbyron Go to original post
Ghost Recon SHOULD be a different kind of game. Ghost Recon it's not about racing, pimping your ride or any "Wezt Koast" life style; Ubisoft had the opportunity of creating a rich open military world... instead they are looking to turn Wildlands (I really hope that I'm totally wrong) to be a GTA clone... I really, really hope I'm wrong...
