Or for marking target, and for extraction by team members. So hard for people to see you sometimes in the rain forest areas. Yes we have a flare gun which seems to go out way to fast. If you noticed the Unidad has rockets they fire over a 100 meters in the area to signal their support choppers. I mentioned this in the DLC addition thread.
Our fireteams uses extreme difficulty with markers off, so we lose the nice "beacon" marker where you can mark a building for over watch.
I've said that having both Smoke in white and red AND an ir strobe marker that could be thrown would be great.
We tend to play with 2 guys as over watch and 2 guys that infiltrate the aoa, often times we are having to spend 2-3 minutes describing which building we are talking about and it would be nice to throw an ir strobe on the roof for quicker reference.
The white smoke would be more helpful than red smoke for cover and marking but with 2 colors it would help again for the extreme difficulty crowd that doesn't want markers and icons for ease of use. The red smoke would be great for marking an area hot as well as providing cover.
