    Change Animations

In my opinion it would benefit the game if they changed some gimmicky animations. Personally I think the Rebel Support mortar firing randomly displayed on screen when a strike is requested should be completely removed. It's just ugly and silly.

The Rebel Support vehicle delivery spawning out of thin air should be changed to a drive to my position animation. It ruins any immersion you may have.

The collapse animation of my character when injured or killed, specially when getting hit by a vehicle, should be changed to ragdoll physics, not a simple collapse where you stand animation, it looks pathetic. In another subject, civilians should at least try to move out of your way when you are driving along a beaten path, they just stay there waiting to be run over.

Hopefully they polish the game a little more because its a great game, just very unpolished.

I have to disagree, the game is already using the Havok engine, so it's just programming not a physical object, bad comparison, anything can be done with code lines, but if it's too hard they can at least make a better animation.

It puzzles me that a high end Developer working on a AAA title in our times would not have ragdoll even though the Havok engine is being used. So, what do you think about the animations on rebel support vehicle spawn and mortar strike?

I've been looking at the animations closely, seems that some parts had some polishment, others are lackluster, the running animation is odd, weapon animations for instance are horrendous. Death animations for the npcs are kinda good on the other hand. They should just add those to the player and get rid of the princess pass out.
As for running over npcs, usually I just drive trough them, they only die if I'm driving slowly (?), this seems code related and Ubi needs to step up on the programming department, every game since assassins creed 3 seems to have some nasty coding problems, for instance the lock out off cover, or when you get stuck in cover animation outside of cover; the drone and binoculars bug, where you can't use them, when you flashbang someone and grab them, if you knock them out they will get stuck in the dizzy animation forever, to mention a few..
Abou the mortar and vehicle delivery... the mortar they just should make the bombs fall from the sky, a mortar popping up out of nowhere makes no sense. As for the vehicle delivery, I'm gonna guess they tried, but didn't manage to finish the coding in time, might be added in the future, let's hope.

I actually found the rebel mortar tube once. Right out in the middle of a runway. How they got in the middle of the runway to set up and fire that mortar is beyond me. They are way more Ghost than the Ghosts will ever be. I was not able to get anywhere near that runway.

They really are set up as close as the animation makes it look like they are.

If there are no physics based animations, what is this?

    Skip ahead to 18 seconds.

The animation of the AI getting into a vehicle gives me chance to make a cup of tea and then continue playing.

It's primarily the smoke trails following mortar launches. Ain't no such thang. Also, c4 in of itself does not cause spontaneous combustion/explosion of a vehicle. There's no shrapnel. It's post detonation leaking fuel in the vehicle sparking at some point setting it ablaze.

I,ll investigate about Havok, reasonable doubt. Yet there is a physics engine here, used for the vehicles and other objects, notice how chairs and containers get knocked over when you bump into them on foot or vehicle, land mines push the vehicles to jump into the air, throw a grenade near a helicopter and it flips it, land a helicopter in a sloped hill and it slides down, that's a physics engine right there. Its just that its not used for in game human bodies.

I think you found an enemy mortar, rebel mortar is just an ugly animation randomly presented on screen.

True that, they stand there and take their time thinking to open the door and get in, one of them actually walks slowly to the car.

Good points. There are too many unpolished elements. Like you said, some need refinement, some just need to go away, like the rebel mortar animation.
