At least it is good to get all of these frustrations off of one's chest

I don't believe that even NATO/US/Russia has the Military Force that SBC/Unidad has. You know what is weird, nobody said anything (specific) about the Enemy AI in the Q&A... or maybe someone did and they decided to lump the questions together with squad AI only? I mean, really, the squad AI is a joke but the enemy AI I think needs even more tweaks & TLC than the squad.

Good suggestion, Dan. Unidad should break contact at some point if they are being wasted and that should be your cue to get the hell and run for it out before heavy ordnance is deployed.
    i agree.

a simple DELAY in the speed waves appear would be enough for me to not hate how the UNIDAD reinforcement is implemented.
i agree you should break away from them when you engage them and not fight to the death and win, but since their reinforcement appears SO unrealistically quickly its not possible in 90% of the instances i encountered (solo). if i get to level 4 chevrons - i cant escape. i dont have the time to find a vehicle and drive away since the helicopters appear in like 2 seconds.

i think that once you reach level 4 - reinforcement should spawn slower so there is a time to get your sh%t and run away. it makes sense to think that the closes base form which the reinforcement comes from has run out of men and now helis and vehicles come from a farther base, thus - slower arrival times.

as is now - if i get to level 4 - im screwed, and if UNIDAD is coming after me i never want to fight because its just gonna make things worse.
i think it would be better if you CAN fight for a while, get UNIDAD up to level 3 or 4 and then, when the reinforcement arrival becomes slower - THAT's when the fighting was worth the fight, if you survived so far, because now you can run.

I'm pretty sure that at one point they ran out of Unidad soldiers to use, and just dressed cartel members in their gear. Because come on, how large can one special ops unit be? Certainly not thousands of soldiers.

Flat out, how quickly and ferociously they receive backup is 100% unrealistic. There is no way on Earth that there are THAT MANY soldiers, fully decked out in battle rattle and ready for combat, that can just appear out of nowhere. Where did these guys come from realistically (ignore the fact the game just spawns them in)? Why also are the QRF elements coming in piecemeal one vic at a time? Perhaps there are just a lot of roaming UNIDAD elements out in the wild that are responding to a distress call, but more likely there is a platoon at some FOB or COP on standby as QRF waiting for a call.

The call comes, this platoon has to quickly gather everyone, gear up, load up, and finally roll out. It shouldn't take long as the trucks in the convoy would already be ready to go. Regardless, it would realistically take a while before they reach their comrades but let's say in in-game terms...maybe between 2-3 minutes? Almost like a countdown timer? It would be somewhat similar to how reinforcements behave in Far Cry where you hear the reinforcements talking over the radio giving updates about how far away they are - acting as a cue for the player to GTFO and break contact. When they roll in, they roll in in force. AT LEAST four vehicles (minimum for a convoy in order to provide 360 security on the road) pull up near the engagement area. The vehicles hang back providing overwatch/suppression with their guns while the dismounts recon/assault Ghost positions. Realistically also they'd be fighting as a coordinated force using fire and maneuver tactics rather than the random assault of suicidal automatons that currently happens. This element starts to get it's proverbial backside kicked, they pull back to establish a perimeter and either call in air support or deploy their own 60mm mortar to light up the last known Ghost positions.

    Something like that.

I'd also imagine the game having a "memory"

if you've smoked 10-15 UNIDAD troops....You are a serious threat and it should be reflected in the game world. In that region UNIDAD patrols and roadblocks should be set up. This would imply you stick to off-road travel or use UNIDAD vehicles to move about.

Stuff like that adds a lot to the experience....for gamers like me. Adds weight to the game world.

As someone mentioned earlier, it appears Unidad functions similar to law enforcement in GTA and other open-world games. But to be fair, this same criticism of "infinite reinforcements" could apply to these other games and not just Ubisoft/GRWL. As out to lunch as GTA can get, there is no way the cops in Liberty City or San Andreas have that many cops and helicopters, and like GRWL they are not designed to be defeated and will just continue to spawn until you die or runaway.

Being able to defeat the "authority" in these games would kind of make them moot, in the case of WL, Unidad would effectively just become Santa Blanca re-skinned as both factions have equivalent enemies, vehicles, and weapons, sans the Unidad helicopter gunship.

Once they attacked me near a safe-house so I had a ammo box near me = unlimited mines and grenade launcher.
They keep coming until they give up, but there was not an excess of enemies, just 3 armored vehicles and 3 helicopters at time.

TBH - I much prefer the unidad behavior over the OTT police bnehaviour in watch dogs and GTA - at least in this you can defeat them without that much hardship so long as you keep them on one side of you (so give yourself room to move), or you are holed up next to an ammo box. TBH - I wouldnt acxtually mind if they did pursue you more agressively on roads though.

In GTA the police are a complete pain in the arse to the point of being almost as much of a punishment for your actions as ubisofts stupid game over for killing civies. Even with heavy weapons in GTA you have the problem of running out of ammo, so you always have to try and run and hope your vehicles holds together for long enough (though its easy to loose them cross country on a motor bike). At least in this you can hold them off indefinitely so long as you can get to ammo and you can reasonably conduct and fighting retreat (assuming you have a means to take down helos easily).

In fallen ghosts these unidad fights do get alot harder just because of the jammers that might be hiding hoards of heavies which tend to survive vehicle explosions (and really need to be shot in the head), but even they, IMHO they remain much more fun in context than police battles in GTA and WD, though in WD2, killing off the police is not hard if you are near your safe house and so have access to ammo.

The thing I miss most in this is not being able to one a one handed weapon and grenades while driving. Much fun to be hard in GTA on a motorbike with and SMG and grenades and other explosives. Also in far cry you had a one hand mini grenade launcher you can use while driving which made for better road carnage.

It doesn't matter what difficulty you play the game, you will never defeat the UNIDAD forces.
I tried the same thing on the easiest mode and after aprox 30 min of real time play with about ten helicopters shot down,
and countless UNIDAD soldiers in vehicles arriving I gave up and made a run for it..

After a little research concerning the different difficulty levels I found.
The more difficult the easier you're spotted, the less hits you can absorb and there are no more or less attackers.

For a game developer of UBI's calibre one would have expected something better thought out, gives me the
impression most of the games are developed ASAP and without looking at it from all angles, no two players play the same, no two players think the same.

After all, a "game" is supposed to be just that, a game, I would like to know how many player's stopped playing the game because it's not enjoyable any more,
It should be enjoyed by ALL AGE GROUPS, not just 10-13 year old's where the more baddies I can shoot and blow up the more I like it. Success is what players are experiencing and not what the developers are forcing us to accept, at high cost, mind you.......
and the attitude is if you don't like it, don't buy it. One thing developers don't seem realise, these 10-13 year old's are our children and
we are the ones paying for the games, so why must I pay a lot of money for all these games just so my 10 year old can have a lot of fun.

I know it's impossible to satisfy all, but looking at players complaining, it's not the 10-13 year old's it's the more mature players, and as soon as game developrs realize it the better for all, come on UBI, you can do better.

I don't like it when you shoot the windscreen out of a car and the engine smokes or it blows up.
