I am not a PK main(I have no main character) and I find easy to parry PK light attack(I don't know how hard it is on console with 30 fps). And btw she does not have the fastest light attack, Warden has the fastest light attack(his top). It just have a different timing in tourneys PKs dont really get into the finals(mainly Conq, warlord, warden, shugoki). I just had enough of people whining about her, SHE IS SO EASY TO PARRY!!! You just have to learn the timing. Against me PKs fear to light attack me.
Xbone player here; half the frames of the PC version can make a hell of a difference when split-second reactions are required. In the case of the PK, 30fps seems to make it too difficult to reliably defend against her light spam (same goes for Valkyrie, but that is at least partly due to the slow stance switch speed of my LB).
That is why some of us who main Peacekeeper were saying the nerfs did nothing to change the actual problem, at least on console, which is that light spam. I don't use it, I refuse to, at the same time I see it quite often. It is also perhaps a reason that the balances for pc and console need to be tailored to the frame rate each are capable of.Originally Posted by Felis_Menari Go to original post
I agree that the zone nerf needed to happen and I hope they fixed the flicker, I never abused the not falling over thing so good that is nerfed as well but until they get the light spam down people are going to complain.
Xbox PK main here as well. You make some great points. They did put out a decent nerf for PK, but the light attack spammers will be unfazed. A look into the speed or damage of those lights maybe on console only wouldve been a better change than to change the side step stab damage which seemed random. ZA was a great change, no way to change it any other way really since the spam is revenge was ridiculous for lower tier players.Originally Posted by CandleInTheDark Go to original post
I play on XBox and I play as raider right now, PK light spammers really aren't a problem. You can just block until they run out of stamina. Their second light is the only one that's kind of hard to deal with. I can reliably block them and sometime even get a parry if they attack in a direction I'm already guarding. I even managed to parry the zone a few times yesterday. It's the ones that actually feint and parry back that get me, but that's just a skill thing. I get a lot of salt from PK light spammers who say I'm hacking or something because I block and parry their lights, it's always a good time.
I wont spam lights, but against a good opponent I will wiff the first light attack to get a very near guaranteed follow up light. I land that second hit probably 95% of the time. I do go up against a decent amount of players that can just block the first light attack with ease most of the time, its the second light attack that causes problems like you said.Originally Posted by LightofBaldur Go to original post
On my own case I am looking for the bleed game so like you say it is parry for guardbreak, feint for soft cancels, hard cancels, the regular heavy attacks cancel into anything including a dodge if you're quick enough with it, I try not to throw too many lights or gas out. I did see one video with a peacekeeper and a warden where they parried each other's zone attacks, more impressive since it was an actual duel, not a see it can be done vid where they were expecting it. I have it in for light spammers, I try to get all four bleeds in a round if I can get a deflect on them. I was hoping the light spam would be what got nerfed, the devs say they are looking at nerfing incrementally but the spam needs to be what goes for her to be in a better place.Originally Posted by LightofBaldur Go to original post
Some one explain to me why 30 FPS is such a big change. If you both activate an attack at 0/60 seconds then that's the same as activating it at 0/30 seconds. If you activate it at 1/60 then at 30 FPS that will show at 1/30 second which is 2/60 seconds. That's literally a 1/60s difference in reaction.
Reaction time. You see less information sooner. It will then leave less time for reaction.Originally Posted by MisterGuyMan Go to original post
