There might be an option under your settings to turn off the controller tool tips. You might want to try that.
But as I recall, they only show up frequently in the earlier campaign missions and stop appearing as you progress into the later missions.

Clearly has never played the campaign lol. They show up for every "new" character you play during the campaign.
