Deflect would be just as useful, i'd say. However being able to cancel at anytime apparently was in the alpha and was nerfed into what we have now. I saw a gif of why it was OP and I guess I could see why. Otherwise, no need for further punishment on SR even with an auto-deflect as it is highly telegraphed and pretty simple to parry even with the changes.Originally Posted by Tobias96716 Go to original post
I personally don't want to see orochi get buffed... at lower skill, he's too easy to play which will ruin the game for what I imagine the bigger player base... he's just too good for certain skill ranges to manage him for high level play which I am not in, would blow up the lower 60% (just an estimate)
At higher level of play where meta is all defense...we have nothing to open up turtles....people parry most attacks....Orochi is at a real disadvantage...at lower skill where people just swing for the fences Orochi is a great noob stomper....but that doesn't happen much if at all at higher levels.Originally Posted by DvlDawg15 Go to original post
Berserkers have made nearly all of my casual friends quit within the first couple weeks of play...and they are buffing him. I understand needing to cater to the lower playerbase but both berserker and Orochi have major issues at high level play. They have very limited safe moves against defensive players. Something needs to be changed. Berserker is one buff away from being a god against noobs. That should make you more nervous than anything else. hell, I KNOW how to deal with him and I'M nervous.Originally Posted by DvlDawg15 Go to original post
Tbh, best way to remedy your stress with orochi is to take a step back and reassess how you approach assassins. You can't fight assassins like you fight the rest of the roster. Go into practice with a lv3 assassin bot and get used to their animations, their strengths, and patterns. You will learn how to fight them in no time.
The second I realized you don't fight Pk, Berserker, or Orochi like the rest of the roster - They became fodder to fight against.
You misunderstand me. I can handle assassins, but I'm betting the majority of assassin players aren't using characters to their full potential, which their opponent is also not able to handle an assassin.Originally Posted by recklessyire Go to original post
Most players are lower end of the skill spectrum in any game, and to buff something for high end play screws the little guys where the money is that allows the high end to continue to play an updated game... hope that makes sense
I know what you mean completely and have discussed it many times myself. I am very afraid of the berserker buff, not just for me, but for the majority of the playerbase that don't know how to deal with him. He will be an absolute nightmare if he gets any more effective against the casuals. I also completely get the "you misunderstand me" thing you said there. I can't tell you how many times i've responded in the exact same way when I try to defend the less experienced players, so my apologies there.Originally Posted by DvlDawg15 Go to original post
There is just no consistent way orochi can break through a turtle with the current options he has. Side heavy feint > Top light only works so many times before a good player is like "Oh, okay I can deal with that" You may get 1 round like this, the 2nd and 3rd rounds they will have adapted to your only viable moves.
Side heavy feint > ZA works but it has to be used too many times to get safe pokes in and it throws away all of your stamina. To get any safe damage in Orochi has to throw away half or all of his stamina bar to get any real progress against a warlord/conqueror. I used to never get exhausted and always thought 'Oh that's not a big deal to worry about' until I was able to compete with some of the higher level players. To get damage in - i have to burn away all of my stamina just to get a few bars off. Orochi needs at least 1 more tool that isn't ZA to attack safely. Some people may just be like "Git Gud" but it's not even a matter of getting good - it's that Orochi has a limited kit the good players know this and will not let the 2 safe attacks Orochi has to get through
If they nerf the turtle meta then Orochi will be in a good spot but as it currently is I don't see how they could nerf the turtle meta effectively enough for Orochi to be able to get passed parries with his current kit.
