It's not that he is weak, he is limited. During average level play he is actually probably in a much higher level of tier but when it comes to high skilled play where people are parry gods and turtle - Orochi only has 2 safe moves in his kit. That being top light and zone attack. He has good feints, but they usually result in one or 2 of the skills mentioned as being safe. In 4v4 game modes, i think orochi is great (Rep 20 Orochi) but when it comes to duels and you're against a warlord/conqueror that is turtling/parrying - it truly shows how limited Orochi is in opening a turtle. His dodge attack is parry bait, his side lights are parry bait, storm rush is parry bait, and his forward dash are parry bait. My suggestions listed above I think would make him great without breaking his character.

Most of this patch is to bring DOWN other characters. Lawbringer is receiving a generous buff, but I still don't think it will put him in top tier. Orochi will remain in the same middle tier he's currently in, though berserker may pass him depending on how generous they are with his buffs. Berserker is very low tier when it comes to high level play, but against casuals/less experience players he is one buff away from being a god. If they are too generous with his buffs, he will be another peacekeeper to the majority of the playerbase. They better be cautious and i'm slightly nervous tbh. Kensei...idk I have found major weaknesses to him and he is fodder to me right now, but if they fix his weaknesses he could be very dangerous to fight against. We'll see what happens with him too. Other than that the rest are nerfs to characters that badly needed it.

I don't have any details either on what changes they are planning to make to him specifically, but I will pass on your concerns with his weaknesses against more defensive playstyles. If you have any further suggestions or more detailed feedback about aspects of Orochi's kit that you think could be changed, you can also PM me or leave it here

I think first they need to increase the speed of his side lights an extra 100ms because they are considered slow and unused at high level play. They could buff the damage of his light deflect to make it a better option considering parrying offers more damage and is easier to do. They could add the ability to feint the backstep-overhead (I believe riptide strike) or reduce the recovery time on a whiff since it is a very risky move to do and requires a strong read on the opponent. They could also make storm rush uninterruptable or give it hyper armor and it would be a bit more usable at high level play for trading hits and being a counter attacker. It would make storm rush highly telegraphed and easy to parry but could be useful for trading hits and allow you to gain momentum in fight. I believe any couple of these changes would make him great - but not all need to be added.

He definitely needs more options in his kit to initiate against turtles and give him better counter-attack abilities.
    TL;DR
    Counter-attacking buff
    - Hyper armor on storm rush for trading hits and gaining momentum in fight
    - Add feint on riptide strike to use the backstep for spacing the opponent and if a successful; a punish on the opponent
    - Buff to light deflect damage to make more useful since parrying is easier and offers more damage

    General buffs
    - Faster side lights by 100ms
    - allow storm rush to be cancelled later in the rush for better mix-ups
Orochi is suppose to be slower then the other 2 assassin's -.- they are duel welding 2 small wepons and don't do as much damage as the orochi.orochi is faster then berserker with tip light and zone

    You want storms trike to
    *hit hard
    *uninterruptable
    *feintable
Might as well throw unblockable in there

Stormrush is perfect. If your not using it to dodge a attack (like you should be) then it better have ways to counter it.

Riptide strike dose need some kind buff my ideas were speed it up increase damage and make it a unblockable. And increase recovery time if you miss.

    Your light deflect is automatically.

What I think orochi could use is a light counter like warden that dose damage or stuns. On his side attacks
(idk if this would be op or not)

Forgive me if I forgot to put in the post that I did not think everything on the list should be added. They were ideas/suggestions on how they could tweak his kit and nothing more. Storm rush isn't bad - though highly telegraphed and parry bait, it is still decent but hyper armor for trading hits would make it more viable. Riptide does need increased recovery frames but I don't think or expect Orochi will ever get a true unblockable.

Adding an unblockable to his kit would be unrealistic seeing as we haven't seen any patches ever grant someone an unblockable. I tried to keep it a little realistic.

Berserker also does more damage than Orochi, though the attacks are hard to land. Orochi's damage comes from combos and punishes - in which get parried easily at high level play.

I've sent you a pm as I feel it is better to keep track of and possibly pass on to the rest of the dev team! Thank you for the great work and these patches have been quite satisfying as of late. I can't wait until you guys reveal what changes might be coming for Orochi. Keep up the good work and I hope to gather more suggestions in the reddit threads I have created for you to possibly reference! If possible let me know what the dev teams overall opinion of my suggestions are!

I think they just need to add feint on his Riptide Strike, buff the feint on the Storm rush (Make the distance of being able to feint longer than post nerf but shorter than pre nerf). And make his side lights a little bit faster. The side is almost as slow as his heavy side :|. Unless they will have the soft feint stay then they wouldn't need to buff it. And then make it so that the deflect into light/heavy interrupt their attack animation so that their combo will stop instead of hitting you after getting STABBED in the stomach.

I referenced basically all of what you said already to the Community manager in a PM. it seems to be what most Orochi mains are suggesting to help his kit a little bit more. Thanks for the input though
