I think Orochi needs more tools in his kit to help him be the counter attacker he is supposed to be.
I think first they need to increase the speed of his side lights an extra 100ms because they are considered slow and unused at high level play. They could buff the damage of his light deflect to make it a better option considering parrying offers more damage and is easier to do. They could add the ability to feint the backstep-overhead (I believe riptide strike) or reduce the recovery time on a whiff since it is a very risky move to do and requires a strong read on the opponent. They could also make storm rush uninterruptable or give it hyper armor and it would be a bit more usable at high level play for trading hits and being a counter attacker. It would make storm rush highly telegraphed and easy to parry but could be useful for trading hits and allow you to gain momentum in fight. I believe any couple of these changes would make him great - but not all need to be added.
He definitely needs more options in his kit to initiate against turtles and give him better counter-attack abilities.

- Hyper armor on storm rush for trading hits and gaining momentum in fight
- Add feint on riptide strike to use the backstep for spacing the opponent and if a successful; a punish on the opponent
- Buff to light deflect damage to make more useful since parrying is easier and offers more damage

- allow storm rush to be cancelled later in the rush for better mix-ups
They claimed raider and Orochi will be getting some attention in the warrior's den stream yesterday. The only possible buffs I could imagine them giving to Orochi are more feints on his abilities or hyper armor on his counter attacking abilities. As it stands he only has 2 safe moves to use. He can't compete against turtles since he lacks the counter attacking prowess, turtle prowess, and a variety of pokes at high level play. I'm a Rep 20 Orochi and have no problem playing in game modes like dominion/skirmish/elimination but when it comes down to duels against players with 80-90% win rates that do nothing but turtle/parry; Orochi has very limited options to open them up for attack.
Id like him to have more emphasis on his counter attacking ability. However I do have an intense hatred of his zone attack and far far too many of fights against Orochi devolve into them feinting attacks before spinning like a top with their ZA over and over and over until they get somewhere. I think them tweaking his countering abilities to be a bit more fluid would help alleviate this while not beaming him in the head with a nerf brick for his ZA.
We are highly anticipating this Orochi change and we are trying to get a grip on what could possibly be tweaked without breaking the character and giving us another peacekeeper situation.
