Hello fellas
i think i got a serios weakness vs Shugos as Valkyrie., kind of sure this is might be her worst MU, because it seems like there is nothing i can do vs him, without risking a lot.
Vs weaker players the dodging & whiffed light attack string or regular light strings into a gb/sweap mix + followup work fine and also decent vs Shugos.
As soon as a shugo is able to block these lights (not even parrying) i have to rely on feints, shieldcrush variations, sometimes i get a shield tackle and ofcourse mistakes by my opponents to get an opening. But these seem to be not viable vs Shugo, because the risk reward is a complete disaster. Winning a stamina fight doesnt work for me too, because...headbutt and valkys stamina is always not enough.
The only good thing about this mu for valky is the dodge attack, so i got one more option vs the charge mixup.
In dom & elemination it is basicly impossible for me to know how good a shugo is after at least 2 fights. If they are good and know about the counterplay vs the charge, they will be playing passiv and going for trades/parries. If they are weak, they look exactly the same: passiv.
I am at a point in elemination where i just run for a buff & gank when i see a shugo in front of me. In dom i am just staling them out., Duels & brawls i am just guardbreaking the whole time, i am serios: All i do is guardbreaking and waiting for a parry, nothing else worked for me.
So does anyone have trick or an advice how to play this mu? What am i missing?
Gb and strike, dodge and strike, party and strike. He's a tanky beast to bring down, but so easy to parry. Really the only thing you have to watch out for is his bear hug... avoid that and a shugoki is a long but easy fight if you have good defense/counter game. If you are lacking in your defensive play, you will suffer too much punishment. Go practice against the rank 2 bot in "how to play" and get better at parrying him.
Another idea is play a conqueror as they're very reactive in their play, to get you more accustomed to that play style. Going offensive on a good shugoki will yield poor results.
