Make it so you can't guard break if someone has done an attack input already

I always get guard broken even if I started my attack input and animation already. Just make it so if a player has begun any attack, they can't be grabbed. Too often will I be in the middle of a heavy because I tried to parry an attack that they cancelled and went for a guard break. I understand that mechanic fine enough, but if I'm already almost about to hit them, It should go through

Yes I notice this a lot. Ubisoft won't bother to make changes though.

This happens all the time to me since release! At first I thought I was just trash, but even getting better at the game I still get hit with it. An I rarely get to get someone else like that. Thought I was the only one.

I'm sure this is how the game was intended to work but it just isn't working correctly

I think a guard break during the start up of an opponent's heavy attack should instead interrupt them and give them a little shove, not actually guard break them.

Definitely not a bad suggestion. But in my opinion, attacks should always take priority over guard break. It should never be equal. But that's just my opinion again

I really think it's just incredibly inconsistent. I've GBd people who were mid attack, and likewise have cancelled out GB by hitting light as the icon pops up.

I don't think anyone would care HOW it works, so long as it ALWAYS works like that.

Guardbreaks are successful through heavy attack startups
Guardbreak is not successful during light attack startups.
If they were to change it where if you start a heavy attack you can't be guardbroken it would further promote tanks/ turtles and be much harder to crack their defense..

I think however one thing that should be addressed is the fact that if you are out of stamina and you heavy attack you can't be guardbroken... That completely messes up the consistency of the mechanic..

what you're suggesting just makes the defensive meta even stronger. one of the only ways to counter a turtle is to bait their parry and guard break them at the start of their heavy attack (their parry) to punish them. If that became safe, playing for parries would be the ONLY way to play unless you were PK and could spam lights.
