That whole flying low thing does not always work. I've been flying the little bird helicopter in the trees and a couple feet off the ground when a SAM painted and shot me out of the sky, I only fell maybe 15 feet to the ground! Then in some areas there are just way too many of them too close together. I was flying in one area and as soon as I came over a hill 3 of them lit me up, so I turn hard right to get away when I got 200m and a 4th one locks me. It's kind of an issue when there are too many SAM sites when you can cross most of Bolivia without needing your feet to touch the ground, just jump from 1 to another. Normally I would say OK fine, be that way, I'm just going to sneak in and blow the damned thing up, but you can't even do that because they respawn as soon as you leave the base pretty much. Is there a SAMs R Us around the corner that I missed?

True enough, it doesn't always work. I was barely off the ground in one of the big choppers and not only did I get detected, I got one shotted with max aircraft shield. Didn't kill me, but the chopper was toast.

EDIT: There should be a mechanic where if you're flying over a restricted airspace, you get contacted by radio to identify yourself. If you don't, or if you fail to be properly identified, you get SAMs up your tailpipe...
You half answered your own question. You'd need to know the current IFF code for that area and key it into the aircraft IFF system and know the call signs in use to avoid being an unidentified air craft.

This is the very reason I suggested a seek and destroy mission add on. Once the SAMS are gone in each Province it awards the user air support, be it Blackhawk or AC 130.

No that is a lie and you know it, out of the pilots I've seen in game, I can honestly say I'm the best pilot of all out there. To fly low as you say, it's better to just get a ground vehicle because a helicopter you'd have to install wheels instead of scraping the ground. I play on PS4 and if you check my Ghost profile, you'll see the helicopters are still my favorite transport, only because I know how to evade air defense missiles, but I confess, after a while it gets tiresome and irritating.
So please don't come here and try to diminish others, the op does have a valid point. I also only pointed my ability to pilot so you know that "I" know what the op is talking about
