Hiya

So far I've been enjoying the game and I'm gonna start on a positive, it's great fun with my friends and I really deeply appreciate that there's not one, not two but at least /three/ British guns in the game and two of them even have unique versions. This is admittedly discounting the Bren from the item shop but it's technically Czech, not gonna steal their thunder.

However the L85A2 has a few issues and these haven't been listed on the known issues thread so I'm more or less here to ask if anything is being done about the following:

1 - Wrong scope placement (TA31H and CompM4)

This is probably the most reported one, where the aforementioned scopes will appear on the middle of the gun in gunsmith where they should be but once you leave gunsmith they're suddenly moved to the far forward of the gun.

2 - Charging handle/firing bolt not far forwards like it ought to be

3 - Grenade launcher

This is admittedly not something I have seen any bug reports about but what I have noticed with the L85A2 is that the STD grenade launcher doesn't really go well with it. IRL its grenade launcher has a pistol grip whereas in-game it only has a trigger and trigger-guard set under and to the back of the launcher.

Are these issues being sorted out? I know you can't get an ETA but just knowing they're being fixed sooner or later will be enough for me.

Now, as for suggestions I have for the weapon.

1 - Plastic furnishing colouring

Right now when your colour the weapon it affects the entire main body, what I'd like to see is an option to just colour the grip and the shoulder rest so I can make it its rightful green like in: http://www.imfdb.org/images/thumb/3/...2_upgraded.jpg

I wouldn't consider this to be critical but it'd be nice ya'know?

2 - Unique version

The Sterling and the L115A3 both have pretty cool looking unique versions, I particularly want the L115A3 with that shark mouth and the /lovely/ shade of green but I am a bit sad not to see a unique L85A2. Even if it ends up being a premium item I'd love to see a unique one.

3 - Long Barrel

Not sure why it doesn't have it as an option but I don't know enough about game balancing or the weapon itself to say it's an error to not have it as an option, just gonna say it'd be nice to have it.

4 - Extended magazine

Could we have something like the L86's drum magazine rather then a fat box magazine?


That's all I can think of right now, if anyone else has something to add that'd be great.

The L86 is fielded with the same 30 round magazines that the rest of the SA80 family is. As far as the rest of that post, you make good points that some members of the community (myself included) have made in the last few days, but it's nice to see someone else championing accuracy in firearms portrayal. The more people that bring this to Ubi's attention, the more likely they are to fix it. Thanks for the detailed post.
