Took a week off from the game. Logged in, played a few duels against the AI to knock the rust off. No lag, everything running perfectly.

Next order was for a skirmish. Everything running well, team starts to dominate. Before the victory an opponent rage quits and we all drop to main menu. Match never happened.

Here is an idea. If you are disconnected, charge the player with the stats earned for the partial game. Then get some servers to handle the matches or figure out a way to handle the disconnects gracefully. If that can't be achieved - instead of going back to main menu - end the match on the stats achieved.

There's a pretty well known trick going around that allows a player to crash the match when they leave 9/10 times. If people are being particularly knobish I'll crash it right before it ends.

I suppose players who disconnect do get some soft punishments, they not only lost time but they also forfeit any rewards (no gear, steel, exp, etc.). Sometimes real life interrupts matches, too, and for some people who literally HAVE to leave the match the only fair thing is to disconnect and let a Bot take over, instead of letting their character sit AFK contributing nothing to the match.

It is annoying when disconnects leads to a match crash error, though, then it's like everyone gets unfairly punished. Would be nice if the match simply ends as a draw, and the game doles out rewards based on how you performed before disconnect.

Come back after a couple weeks off.

Takes forever to find a game of Elimination, finally get one after 30 mins searching. Luckily complete that order in one match. Try to do some Dominion and knock off a few orders for that, could only complete 2 out of 6 games because of rage quitters dropping out right at the end of matches. Good to see nothing has changed.

There will ALWAYS be rage-quitters, no matter how harsh you make the penalty(short of permabanning people) the thing that makes this problem WORSE is that it only takes a SINGLE quitter in a 8 player game to ruin the entire match for EVERYONE, either the game will straight up crash, or one team will be stuck with a completely worthless 0-8 bot and have no chance of winning(making me hope the game crashes when one of my teammate leaves rather than suffer through an unwinnable game).

Fix your utterly broken, stupid, ill-conceived worthless peer 2 peer system or REPLACE IT, make bots replacements smarter(combat-wise and objectives-wise) and THEN implement punishing rage-quitter penalties. You delivered a broken product, get your heads out of the sand and FIX IT before its too late.

Ha...I feel your pain. I'm trying to level a Peacekeeper, right now she's Rep 1 lvl 19. When I play skirmish I have all 0 Rep or 1 Rep teammates vs a team of min rep 4 players all with heroic if not maxed gear stats. After getting sick of being pounded I switch over to my Rep 7 108 gear Warlord. What does my team look like this time? Now I'm on the geared up team facing scrubs...its so moronic this matchmaking system...

This concerns me as I have little faith that you'll be attacking the actual issue and instead be punishing people for no good reason. Provide incentive to stay against all odds rather than punishing for leaving.

I'm a rank 4 valk, 108 gearscore itemized perfectly... and it won't save me from a rank 1 who is better than me. It's matches on skill, not on how much silver you banked up while power leveling through orders like I do when I want to push a character...

I think the matchmaking problem was talked about briefly in our live stream. You're actually matched with other players before you pick your heroes which is why it can create an opportunity for an unbalanced game. We're definitely aware that it's a problem and we're looking for ways to fix it so matches are more fair and balanced.
I asked this before and never got an answer, what are you going to do about people in your party getting dc'd in the first minute of the game, with this penalty system if you leave to go play with your friend you will be penalized... I don't think that is fair. I do think better match making will get rid of a lot of these rage quits though.

I have a Rep-10 PK, but if I wanted to go in as a fresh Warden, I'd still be matched based on my Rep-10 PK.
I don't think you understand what he's saying. I get matched with no rep/low gear all the time with my 108, and for some reason the OTHER 108s get put on my team while the other team has a rep 1 with gray gear as their highest.

It's a blood bath. It's not fun for them, it's not fun for me, and usually leads to the host rage quitting and disconnecting the game regardless.

If you stay and lose the game, you earn exp., steel, war assets and gear. What more incentive could there be? The thing is, incentives don't seem to work. So why not add a stick to the carrot?
