I have to say - whilst I am enjoying this game (a lot actually) it does have a lot of issues holding back the Singleplayer from the potential that is there for greatness!
I play Singleplayer most of the time.
Still waiting for my friend to purchase... And there's no guarantee he will.
This is why I think Ubisoft or any developer is wrong to prioritise coop over singleplayer -- because those who have to or prefer singleplayer get short changed!
Unless you have friends that also want to get the game you are out of luck - because playing with randoms, (as everyone knows) especially with a game that emphasises team work, is complete rubbish!
I don't know why Ubisoft seem unaware of this fact?
Playing with Randoms is NOT fun.
It's why I suggested in another topic they create and add Extreme only public matchmaking. While playing on Extreme might not be your thing (not sure), it would at least add a new level for like minded people to match & pair. And I say Extreme only because there is already a vast established community that only plays this difficulty and these players are usually mature, tactical, have mics, don't run & gun, hence they deliver a completely different gameplay experience than the current random matchmaking.
Playing w/ friends is no better than a random match.
Loaded up a room of friends today.
I'm @ 98% stealth, 66% stealth killing.
Every one of my friends was less than 30% stealth and less than 10% stealth killing.
They are just COD'ing every mission.
Playing like they have only 1 day to beat the game.
Really drags you %age's down when all they want to do is run & gun everything.
Back to Solo from now on...bleh!
This is exactly why I'm waiting for GR:W to hit the 15 dollar bargain bin over here in Aus. Any game that prioritises multiplayer over SP gets the finger from me. I picked up R6:S for 15 bucks over here instead of full price for launch for this exact reason. Same for the Division, bought it for 14 bucks.
Yep, struggled with a few that just Rambo in and don't care about extra troops or alarms, when I love the stealth approach. Plus, nothing better than occasionally working with a few other people and taking out a base with no one noticing. However, I think part of the problem is that, even in the hardest difficulty, it's still fairly easy to take out a large amount bad guys. Sometimes too, I've wanted a large scale gun battle but been let down (there's even one mission to take out a certain female boss that sets up to be a massive battle but I think has about 10 cartel to shoot and then nothing else). I'd have preferred to have seen more "get spotted and it's mission over" things then the few we have. They generally split the Ghosts from the Rambos.
Considering the poor attention to details in the solo mode, there is no doubt they focused more on Co-Op.
We got no AI Customization, the Story is heavily disjointed and best enjoyed per-region and not as a whole because they know people who play Co Op will most likely see it out of order, squad commands to your solo squad is broken with no ability to do anything else than fire out of vehicle or sync shot, the latter is some kind of ****ing god mode.
So change your friends... You have FB groups where people are looking for fireteam with excatly the same expectation - no HUD, extreme mode, strict radio chatter etc. while others just want to clear a province or go loud. Just choose people who want to play your style...Originally Posted by KenKoerperich Go to original post
There is a perfectly serviceable forum here which would facilitate you in finding groups according to your desired skill level. Try it, not everybody is a goon mate. It might a few games with people you don't know to find the right bond. You don't lose out on anything if you do a few missions and you don't gel.
I definitely aim to running through the game on a different save once I have cleared all the the regions. My first play through is really enjoyable but want to do it differently on a second run. Maybe with some people off the forum and also with potential game changing updates to the game if they come.
I beat the game on advanced...in single player mode with nothing but the AI bots. FYIOriginally Posted by LaMOi Go to original post
The issue with multiplayer is that you have four people each wanting to work on their own progression. I play solo a lot, and when I join my friends, I end up doing missions that they haven't completed. It has become a rarity that I encounter something for my own progression, unless it's a document/weapon/attachment I missed in a province I already completed...
