I'm having something close to the OP's problem. I wasn't even doing a mission, I was going around and exploring the area's, gathering Intel and whatever else I could find to make the upcoming fights easier. I just cleared a base out, started tagging rations and gathering Intel, then my screen goes black and says "Mission Failed: You were spotted." A) I was NOT doing a mission. B) I just killed everyone in the base and swept it before I started gathering. Since when can you fail a free roaming, WTF is that garbage!?
yep know the mission quite well t's the one in Koani gets frustrating when the guards seem to stay close to the room that you need o sneak in to. Easiest way for me was to wait until night then from a distance snipe the generator to cut power. Which in some instances makes you suspected, just wait a min until your no longer suspected then enter the depot via the gap in the barbwire on the town side. Then jump down on to the cargo container and make your way to the back of the building. use drone to mark any enemies. sneak up to the back door to check for hostiles, if all clear quickliy make your way into the little bedroom. 1st door on the left. use drone to check if room where quest is clear,if so quickly go in take pics then quickly get back out side the same way you entered.head to the tin ramp on the same side as the helicopter is, jump the fence and make your way out of the area. (may not work for all but it's how i do it).

It could have been programmed that way from the beginning so the player would have a fair chance in forced stealth mission parts - it is just a logical and very simplifacted example but you can get an idea how each behaviours are structured:
If you get spotted by an enemy but if you meet certain conditions ie takedown / shot an enemy before firefight occurs or call support reinforcements by the radio then = no mission fail. But...
If you get spotted by an enemy and you meet certain conditions ie firefight occurs or call support reinforcements by the radio then = the mission will fail.
While I understand Ubi's intent (I think) with the remain undetected missions...................I suspect the basic problem for most (including me) is they (Ubi) coded their enemy AI's detection parameters too aggressively.
Being "seen" by the enemy AI is technically being detected; however in many of the instances described in this thread; it would not be "detected" in a real world mission; unless they can 1. let out a yell, 2. activate an alarm, 3 get off a shot, or 4. another AI sees them go down. Simply put; in some fashion, let the other Cartel or UNIDAD AI know the player character is there.
There is a difference in these missions play mechanism/code I haven't figured out yet too. It could be the difficulty setting individual players are on (the "you've been detected" parameters being softer on easier difficulty settings), or maybe it's something else. But it is definitely there; whatever it is.
I'm on PC, and I've played these missions on Advanced, and Extreme difficulty settings with most or all of the HUD stuff off (specifically enemy tagging), and the mini map off. With as many enemy AI's as there are moving about inside the mission location; it's pretty easy to "bump into" an enemy in different places on any given mission attempt. STUFF HAPPENS! Just like in the real world, and that's a good thing.
What pisses me off is the innumerable occasions I've encountered an enemy; their eyes go wide, mouth starts to open to yell, weapon starts to come up. I kill them (or sometimes I've cold cocked them in a melee attack) using a suppressed sub gun or pistol (usually the two quietest suppressed gun classes). No shout, no alarm, no shot, no one around to witness the take down/kill. Yet it's an insta fail.
I've also watched a number of You Tube mission play throughs, and quite often the exact same sequence of events occurs for that player, and it's a successful take down/kill with the mission continuing. As the saying goes...................WTF??!!![]()
Is it a difference in platform the game is being played on? Difference in difficulty setting? Difference in how much HUD salad the individual player has turned on? Combination of things? Beats the **** outta me.
The good news is.......................there has never been anyone from Ubi present when that's happened to me.............................so I've had to settle for just yelling and swearing at the screen!
Ubi: Would you please do some sort of patch recode on the enemy AI detection and mission fail parameters for these missions! It should only be a fail if the enemy AI get an alarm off. And, the enemy AI is clearly detecting the player character more quickly than normal in missions like the Koani "hijack and drive the truck into the compound" mission; that detection speed should be detuned some.
Thanks in advance for your consideration!
I actually gave up on using the truck lol after the 11th attempt or so I found out you can drop into the outpost from some rocks over a wall just next to the warehouse where the documents are located, take the photos and then run to the other side of the compount and jump over a ramp back to the outside! it took me about 4 mins, i rememebr thinking what was the point of the trucks lolOriginally Posted by Scoe141 Go to original post
