It's real. I was playing coop with a friend of mine. We were doing the "hijack the money truck" mission. First attempt we got into a rolling gunfight with them, hijacked the truck and got "detected" at the drop off site. The second attempt we set up an ambush and sniped the driver of the truck, which resulted in us being "detected". Third time's the charm, right? Wrong. Got "detected" at the drop off site when my friend sniped a guy.

The above video was around attempt #6. We literally spawned in at the safe house and, well, you saw what happened. We called it a night at that point.

One of the big selling points during the advertising for this game was "you can play it however you choose to" Total stealth, total full on assault or a mixture of both. However, these mission are illogical, annoying and frustrating.

If an enemy see me and I kill him before he can sound an alarm, how is that a mission fail? Due to the use of cocaine have the Sicarios now developed telepathic abilities? Upon death does a monitor go dark like in Aliens 2?

This mechanic is a bit overdone in my opinion. Sure lets not raise an alarm, that would be a mission fail, but if someone sees me for a split second and then is killed that is also a mission fail?

Also, it may just be me:

Why are missions leading up to taking down a boss frustrating do overs many times and then taking out the boss is dead simple.

Now while this mission is not a boss it was ridiculous:

Sneak into the truck depot and get the truck delivery schedules without being detected. 17 attempts over 2 play sessions and my friend and I got it done. Next mission, destroy the convoy. We get on the tail of the convoy, I put 3 rounds from an LMG into the tailing escort. it blows up and we get credit for destroying the whole convoy?
I had no problems with this mission. I stole a truck, drove it right into the garage, snuck around back, hopped onto the roof, walked to the other end, hopped down, monitored patterns, stole schedule, retreated back to dirt bike and jumped out of compound. First try complete.

I think about missions this way. How long does it take someone to realize someone is dead or an entire compound is dead? Let's say you have a mission where you need to steal intel on a target, if you kill a bunch of people either later in the day or later in the week someone is going to figure that out and put out an alert. In the mean time they are going to check everything in the base, especially since some gringos have been messing up the cartel's stuff, and alerting everyone else in the cartel. So actually going around murdering everyone is probably not the best way to do things in actual ops.

Also the escort guy to the airport mission is by far the worst mission in the universe, so wait till you get to that one haha

Is the "without being detected" part confusing?
Reread my post genius. We successfully hijacked the truck via the rolling gunfight. We were subsequently "detected" at the drop-off point.

If you wanna be a smart@ss, you should probably refrain from being a dumb@ss in the process. HTH.

Read my post as many times as you need for it to sink in. Or, better yet, have somebody with a brain explain it to you.

I have actually just completed this mission (after several attempts). Twice I managed to stop the truck and failed the mission for being "detected" when getting to the truck and before I could get in to drive it. The "failed because you are detected" should not happen until you are at the drop off.

    Bug?

I definitely had some trouble on a couple of these missions so far. Until they fix them up, the best way is to just hang outside and use your drone for recon. Examine the guard routes, who's who, what's where. Figure out your steps from there.

I can only hope there aren't any of these mission types in any of those massive bases. That would be a complete nightmare...

Has to be a bug. I haven't encountered anything like it before or since.

I completed the mission, solo, the following day without any issues.

There seems to be a number of players that don't get what stealth is. Traditionally stealth games have been 100x harder than this one.

To put some perspective on this, the extreme setting is HALF as hard as the older stealth games. Arma, Socom, Splinter were brutal.

The one mistake I think was made in this game is that once again Ubisoft has mixed styles together so that to say "you can play the game the way you want just is not so. Whether you like going "loud and proud" or purely stealth, you cannot in many, many cases complete a story mission, or a side mission purely one way of your choice, you are forced into one way or another, or even a mixture of both.
