Getting off the fashion topic for a min. Does anyone else hate or have issues with using spin chop then instead of you doing a side heavy you'll instead do a overhead heavy just to end up getting punished. This annoys me to no end, mostly as I leave my stick sitting in the direction I was spinning in. This is probably the number one reason I get killed.
What you're describing does sound familiar.
Though, after reading a few of the more recent Berserker centric posts, I'm having a hard time figuring if the things I experience in game is due to my own mistakes, or the game lagging, or the Berserker itself bugging.
The class feels so inconsistent I'm having a hard time telling when I'm screwing up, or the game is.
Another thing I've taken note of; The more experienced one gets with a 'Zerker, the less of the class' unique moveset you utilize.
The infinite combo I think was the first to go. It won't take long, just a few Reputations in, until you realize other players can, and will learn to counter it really, really fast. It's a predictable combo that's hard enough to get going against a player who's asleep at the wheel, they just gotta leave their stance left or right eventually they'll block something, and It's useless and impossible to use against players with just sort-of high rep and half a can of Red Bull in 'em.
After that, the side dash started to get used less and less. It's too slow it seems, almost all classes have some measure to counter it, even something as basic as just hitting you with a light attack.
I mostly use the dashes to deflect, or for mobility. As an offensive move, I find it less and less useful.
Bear Mauler, 3 heavy hits, in succession went next I think. I don't think I've ever really even used it as a go-to attack, It's slow and predictable, and at high levels of play you're gonna get parried more often than not.
Then there's the overhead dash light attack. Again, predictable, but what bothers me most is that It doesn't even close that much distance. Berserker's are super close range, and I constantly feel as if I don't have a good tool to close the gaps. Dashing forward? I'll get hit, or GBed. Overhead attack? Probably won't land. Boar rush? Also probably not.
I'm just about Rep 9 now, and I feel as though my most useful tools against opponents Rep 4-5+ Is just feinting into a light attack or a GB, and pray they hit. I feel utterly powerless against the heavy classes in particular, since they can just Turtle up, and that leaves me 1 single move to use against them, guardbreaking them, and that is a move they can counter.
Perhaps I'm just mistaken, and I'm doing something wrong, not utilizing a particular skill, not being fast enough or whatever, so I apologize for any objective mistakes I'll have mentioned here and for the rant-y nature of the post.
But right now, as a Berserker main, exclusively, I feel pretty disheartened that my preferred class is far from the fastest, strongest or even most mediocre class available. It seems a Berserker's best weapon is his/her mind, which admittedly feels amazing when you defeat an enemy who is objectively better than your Berserker in a variety of ways. But that's 1 out of 10 times.
The other 9 times, you're just screwed.
Zerks are defo bugged.... Block/parry and dodge don't work properly. It gets really frustrating when you're trying to dodge and the damn thing just stands there like a potato getting smacked round the head.
Also the uninterruptable attacks get interrupted a lot....The jump forward top heavy gets interrupted a lot. Had a damn LB catch me on his spike in mid air.
I like the Velyris helm.... nice gold engraved thing..... Shergar Chest.....Lynea arms..... I have the full Hafgrim set for weapons, but would prefer the look of the Zaback heads, but I only have the left head atm. They really suit the Hafgrim handles though.
My Zerker is a couple of dominions away from rep 7. Been playing with a Warlord the last day or two though.. Kinda like him aswell.
Need to change factions at the end of the season... I'm Knights atm, but play Vikings way more than those.
That happens a lot...especially after a deflect.... go for side heavy and out comes a top which gets blocked/parried.
Might have something to do with me using a mouse though... its pretty sensitive and easy to twitch a little and send it the wrong way.

I am a main Warlord but I got my Berserker to rep 5 and also play Lawbringer. At first I wasn't sure what was the problem, if t was me or what else, until I realise that berserker cant block fast light attacks. I was testing these days, playing warlord I can just stay still and block any attack from any character. In other hand the poor zerk cant consistently block fast light attacks(mainly PK and Valkyrie) even if thats the only thing if you are trying to do. Worse than that, sometimes I cant block even if I know where the attack is coming from. It's really frustrating and if you got hit the stag animation prevents you to block the following attack.
I play on PS4 by the way. I really love the character but this bugs kill the whole fun.
I agree, Same experience. At first i though i am just doing something wrong but i i would loose to every Kensai fight when he strikes with light attacks i can't doge them, it shows the animation but i still get hit, same thing vs Nubushi and Peacekeeper. Any of the fast attacking hero. It's really frustrating.
Berserker sounds good on paper, that's why i fell in love with him (and 2 axes !!!)
But in reality . . . it's like stated often in this Thread. Most of his unique moves are useless...
His most usefull skills are his deflect (free gb) but currently a parry rewards the same but the risk is not that high.
His dodge faint.... sure it is usefull, but it is still very predictable . . . and double faints or more (a.e. Heavy(Faint)>Light (dodgefaint) >slower light) it's a huge *** effort for a single light reward if you hit .... in the time you need to faint you get hit by a player who is not overwhelmed by faints.
The changes with 1.05.1 are just a small step in the right direction:
1. Hyperarmor at the second hit is a nice gimmick but does not safe you from parries.
2. Top heavy has now more AOE damage... not really interesting
3. Deflect comes out faster!! yes, that solves one problem
But what Ubi secretly nerfed... The Heavy side > heavy top combo on a fallen enemy does not work anymore....
I do also thought about ways to fix Berzi:
1. Everybody knows he does not have any Unblockable, this makes it hard against turtles (current meta), but srsly i do not know what would fit as an Unblockable, maybe his charge+Light or charge+heavy or both?
Maybe the third side hit of Bear Mauler? Or Combofinisher/top combofinsher in general?
2. His zone ...
he has one of the longest zones, the only one with multiple hits who can't cancel it (it's a free parry for every good player), it has a bad tracking + short range > if you miss you are wide open while you stuck in a chopped animation and costs half of you stamina for not that great dmg.
3. (sprint) boar rush is just to slow to be usefull
4. It says that his throws drain stamina, if it's unique let it drain abit more... just to be of use and an good alternative to the free heavy you can land, but looks like all chars throws do drain stamina ...
5. Ok now something interesting:
Berserkers old side-dash attack has been a heavy top but they removed it. So just add it again.
5.1. Side-dash+light (regulare spinchop) and side-dash heavy (the old move from top)
5.2. If you side-dash you can change the direction of spinchop by changing guarddirection while side-dash (no heavy, only lights)
6. To really make use of Dance of the paired blades(DotPB): Make Spinchop compatible with DotPB, this alone would actually help the 'zerker to be more harassing etc. Better said: We should be able to cancle DotPB with a dodge.
7. And at least pls make the "hidden animation" of the Head Crusher (heavy charge) useable (by holding or something like this), it's pretty usefull to catch ppl off-guard, looks cool and is allready in the game, but currently it only comes out if your enemy do run away from you at a certain distance...
8. Oh and what i forgot.... who ever uses Slashing Rush ?! ... Srsly i don't even see a way to make it usefull without changing it complete, it's range is just to low to hit anyone and in a gank it also never helped me xD
