This topic is out of the blue. Since when was there ever any mention of the crusades or anything religious in this game besides the phrase "Valhalla" and "Odin's beard"? I have never heard anyone in game say Deus Vult.
Oh, by the way, Vikings, your culture was destroyed by the Knights. Historically speaking. The blood thirst of the Christian Europeans sought to destroy the "pagan heathens" of your Norse way of life. And they did, but politically through the leaders of your lands who were Christianized. And we all know what happens if you refused to accept Christianity back in those days.
Actually a lot of vikings, mostly from Denmark if I recall, took over a significant chunk of Britains lands, and made settlements, later they made deals with mainlanders, adopted christianity and became official dukes and barons etc.Originally Posted by Flyin Japman4 Go to original post
They were smart people, and because they didn't really give a f*** for religion that much, it was a win-win situation for them
Not that i think it was worth the outcry, but not long before this thread popped up, there was a meme from one ofthe ubisoft guys that went withOriginally Posted by Flyin Japman4 Go to original post

crusade.
I might be off base with that, it might have been the england flags ranted about in the OP, just it was what I linked this thread with the moment it was posted.
Edit
To put proper context on this, it was in a call to arms type thread one of the samurai players posted with the round near its end.
Lol, as a Jewish dude, I literally give no ****s whatsoever. Not saying the Crusades weren't wrong, but they happened a really long time ago, and I sincerely doubt people intend to make a real-life religious impact on others via a video game. Also, the only things they are taking from the Crusades (that I've seen so far) are the cross and shouting "Deus Vult", and so far my menorah hasn't crumbled to dust and my tzit tzit hasn't burst into flames as a result, so I think it's safe to say
DEUS VULT
The Crusades were a response to Muslim conquests. The first was in response to the 661 Muslim conquest that took Jerusalem and booted out Christians and Jews, whereas prior, all three were allowed to worship there. Unhappy that the Crusades happened? Blame a Muslim. SMDH.
