Yeah the constant disconnects are a big part of the issue. Especially when someone rage quits at the end of a match

It's weird some people defend a dev trying internationally to make it impossible to unlock the stuff they want in the entire life of the game...

For me, I don't mind a grind... I'm not going to spend a two weeks per item though, that's insane. It's about fun, and when time consumption gets so high it detracts from the fun, it's a bad system.

A guy up above made a reference about potato chips: well I don't mind paying for potato chips, or walking to the store and carrying my groceries home... I DO mind having to walk 10 miles for a bag of Doritos, or pay $15 when I get there.

First, we know the average gamer is only going to max one or two characters and get the gear for them. Years of gaming tell anyone with common sense that this is the norm. People get bored, play other things, a new release of their favourite franchise comes out, they realise 12 Ornaments for one character is overkill and that they are only equipping one anyway, and so on.

Secondly the gear and level based progression system complete with inventory is entirely an MMORPG concept that this game has adopted. Saying 'but it's not an MMO' doesn't work. This is a mix up of various formats. If you can only wrap your head around a game being pigeon-holded into one category that's your problem. They even quoted World of Warcraft as an example of their model. I played that game for 4 years, maxed 2 characters out of 10 and still never had every single thing in the game for those 2 characters.

Prestige items are a thing. If you don't understand prestige and why prestige items are inherently hard to come by, then again that's your problem. The very value comes from everyone not having them. Duh.

You can earn 700 Steel in about an hours play, each day. That means every 10 days with just ONE HOUR OF PLAY A DAY you can buy a 7000 Steel item. Every month you can buy 3 of them. This is only based on a SINGLE HOUR of play each day which is absolutely nothing. Events like the current Brawl one will suddenly give you 2000 Steel is a single day. Steel is not a problem. Very few people can play a game for as little time as For Honor and still unlock a major item every 10 days. If you play far more than that, you will of course have more and more of these items.

You cannot blame the game for you being an OCD maniac.

Has anyone worked out how long it will take you to earn every apartment, yacht, gun, car, tank, motorbike and outfit in a game like GTA V?

Why is this a thing in For Honor? Why do some people feel entited to EVERYTHING within the first 5 weeks of play? Whatever happened to earning your gear, having pride in putting in the time and effort required to do so, and being able to then show off that gear safe in the knowledge that it shows the world that you DID SOMETHING hard to earn something good. For the record, doing something hard to earn something good does not include posting 'waaaaa I want I want gimme gimme everything now I want I want' on this forum.
Who said anything about a month? You're exaggerating to make a point. If I play every day, and I do, I should have a reasonable expectation of eventually unlocking more than 33% of the starting content.

I'll gladly play on and off for a few years, I'll gladly grind. I object however to needing what no doubt will be over two million steel by game's end at 40 steel per match, in some cases far less. That's insane. That's grinding over fun, and with more characters coming and such it just means we'll never get to enjoy all the characters because the grind is too severe. I will gladly put in the effort, but if the time commitment versus the rewards is so steep people stop playing (and I know of two, my only other friends who play, who are already frustrated this soon? That's a really bad system) then there won't be much of a community in two years.

There needs to be a balance that's fun and allows profession. This game is the most extreme non-MMO or mobile game i know of.

Everything you said and are continuing to say / lie about / exaggerate / cry about was addressed in the 7 paragraphs I wrote that you have just quoted. I'm not going to repeat myself. Have a re-read.

Uh...I would think that the players quitting/giving the game a break are doing so due to the disconnections and lack of character and gear balance.

I agree with the OP. If you want this game to persist, then why do you make it nearly impossible to collect everything?

Why do you guys want to unlock everything? There are so many games out with so much content that it's nearly impossible to unlock everything (csgo, r6 Siege, coh2,...)
Why do you need all executions, animations and those lights or flares, if you will just use one?
If everyone has everything, then nobody can't be really proud of his new sign, animation or execution, because it's not unique.

No... To this thread. Cosmetic progression is not the reason people stop playing this game.

People crying about this is crying about not getting the right sticker from these cheep chewing gums that include stickers of football players (in Germany we had soccer players, might be different in other countries ).
But the worst thing is, you cry babies cry about that because you don't get the right sticker, the chewing gum does not taste anymore.

Really, this game is not about the sticker, it's about that tasty chewing gum and the sticker is simply an additional good!!!

Ppl who leave For Honor bcs they dont get every cosmetic for every hero would leave the Game in one or two Months anyway bcs. it would get way to hard for them to play.

Ofc. the game is made for every player to master 1 or 2, evt. 3 characters max!
And I say Master, not equip or max in gear.

This game is made for a hardcore playerbase that wants to be competitive and challenge each other to see whos the best warrior.
Its not about who has the fanciest ornament...

Main Orochi, saw the new octopus ornament (Im really into customization, dont get me wrong, love it) but i dont like it, so why spent 7k steel on it?
    Complete nonsense.

    Played WoW since Vanilla.
6 days a Week Raid with 6-8hrs per Raid (Burning Crusade).
You tell me something about grinding again!
    Really...

If you want to leave bcs you cannot unlock everythin in the first 2 months.
Plz, do everyone of us a favor and just leave!
I dont want to have you on my team...

I also did that, 4 days per week not 6 tho, until wotlk which I mostly did things solo/with friends.

That was different, it was grind for ingame progression.
    This is grind for cosmetics.
I see both points and both have merit, but for instance I could easily see all emblems and that kind of stuff like colors unlock with the highest level of renown across all characters. For instance if I got renown 4 on my main, all cosmetic unlocks of renown 4 are unlocked across all characters.
Also execution and taunts/emotes could unlock through the renown system at some high levels or on the way through anyway (excluding those related to skin packs like the flames for knights).
