Stop with the 2.5 years of play to get absolutely everything. No online game with a persistant pvp universe and prestige items rewards you with everything in a month.

First, we know the average gamer is only going to max one or two characters and get the gear for them. Years of gaming tell anyone with common sense that this is the norm. People get bored, play other things, a new release of their favourite franchise comes out, they realise 12 Ornaments for one character is overkill and that they are only equipping one anyway, and so on.

Secondly the gear and level based progression system complete with inventory is entirely an MMORPG concept that this game has adopted. Saying 'but it's not an MMO' doesn't work. This is a mix up of various formats. If you can only wrap your head around a game being pigeon-holded into one category that's your problem. They even quoted World of Warcraft as an example of their model. I played that game for 4 years, maxed 2 characters out of 10 and still never had every single thing in the game for those 2 characters.

Prestige items are a thing. If you don't understand prestige and why prestige items are inherently hard to come by, then again that's your problem. The very value comes from everyone not having them. Duh.

You can earn 700 Steel in about an hours play, each day. That means every 10 days with just ONE HOUR OF PLAY A DAY you can buy a 7000 Steel item. Every month you can buy 3 of them. This is only based on a SINGLE HOUR of play each day which is absolutely nothing. Events like the current Brawl one will suddenly give you 2000 Steel is a single day. Steel is not a problem. Very few people can play a game for as little time as For Honor and still unlock a major item every 10 days. If you play far more than that, you will of course have more and more of these items.

You cannot blame the game for you being an OCD maniac.

Has anyone worked out how long it will take you to earn every apartment, yacht, gun, car, tank, motorbike and outfit in a game like GTA V?

Why is this a thing in For Honor? Why do some people feel entited to EVERYTHING within the first 5 weeks of play? Whatever happened to earning your gear, having pride in putting in the time and effort required to do so, and being able to then show off that gear safe in the knowledge that it shows the world that you DID SOMETHING hard to earn something good. For the record, doing something hard to earn something good does not include posting 'waaaaa I want I want gimme gimme everything now I want I want' on this forum.

Absolute BS. I was a hardcore raider in WoW for 4 years, I have over 400 days (days, not hours) played time, and used to raid 4 nights a week, 4-5 hours a raid, just for the chance of getting one drop, that I would then have to compete with 3-4 other guild members who were the same class as me for, either winning that item on a random dice roll, or having more DKP points than them by attending more raids than them. Getting one decent piece of raid gear could take weeks. A whole set, months. You know what would happen then? They would release a new expansion that would make all of that gear redundant and you would start the whole process all over again.

I notice you have a habit of lying about things you know nothing about, you are very dishonest in your posts, which says a lot about you and the validity of your 'points' .

    Looking to the Future

I think the real question we need to be asking right now is, what is going to happen when this game "dies"? The game is still new but with all of the problems with connections and the ridiculous cost of in time and steel for EVERYTHING, we are already starting to see a dramatic decrease in the number of people playing. In both PVP and PVE I am more and more frequently running into the same people over and over and over again. Add that to the introduction of huge new and upcoming titles, whether or not the game is going to continue to be a player vs. player based platform really begins to come into question. So, when the game inevitably dies, as it eventually will, what happens? Are they going to convert all of the pvp orders to ai orders? Are they going to reduce the number of "required players" to initiate pvp sessions? If the devs dont really want us to bother unlocking everything, what is the point in even bothering to introduce new characters and DLC? by the time they finally do, will it really be worth investing the time to train the newcomers?

The worst part of all is that its a pay to play game, the dude that made this joke economy is really stup*d, (sorry if you ever happen to read it but its the truth)

for a free to play game 2 and a half years is A LOT (also take in mind they will release 12 more characters so its 5 years in total) : this is high even in a free to play game (a lot more greedy than League of legends that have a similar system)

For a pay to play game its just ridiculous, not even thinkable.

I never seen someone so greedy as the Dev that made the economy of this game.

Agree with this. Means in game mode like domion it's pointless trying a new character out because it'll mass underpowered compared to the rest of the opponent's who've been playing the same character since day one. I've never played as a few characters just on this fact. Also, if we're only meant to play as 3 characters why don't the daily orders reflect that. How we supposed to earn the steal for using a different hero if the game leaves is at a disadvantage. To keep this idea going they need gear score matchmaking

I understand completionist being hurt that the game was not design to unlock everything, but this is way healthier than having people complain after 2 weeks saying there is nothing else to do in this game. This is a fighting game, not a MMO. The third person view should not fool you into thinking this is anyother thing than a fighting game with a lot of customisable. Also, Gear should only be cosmetic.

The mentality you have is the reason developers keep putting microtransactions in games. Let me ask you this; do you honestly believe what people spent so far on microtransactions went towards fixing and maintaining the game or did go straight into t heir pockets?
Your equivalency is also false due to the fact that you still got what your paid for, whether you believe so or not. Unless ubisoft pulled a no mans sky and straight lied to people, then I don't see the issue. I bet if for honor had less gear content variety (up to a value of 50 bucks instead of 700) you guys wouldn't be complaining. So why not have more options and the choice to buy them if you wanted to.

    i love these topics.

point #1) the math involved with the "2.5 years" to unlock everything refers ONLY to the cosmetic things. emblems, colors, and cloth patterns. since an average player can get a given character to the MAXIMUM GEAR LEVEL in under a month, it clearly doesn't reference the game-changing gear boosts. even if you were to take an entire month to max a character, that's 1 year to max all of them.

point #2)i don't know about the rest of the community, but i ONLY play the knights. if i was playing the other characters, i'd still be using rep 1 characters across the board and be at a disadvantage.

point #3)so, given that the average player doesn't have time to play every character and still remain competitive, and also that it's far easier to max a specific character, i don't see what the frigging big deal is that we won't have EVERY LAST ****ING COSMETIC ITEM. we don't ned them because they're A)cosmetic and B) for characters we don't have time to use.
