interesting video. it definitely looks like someone has written a program to assist in blocks/cgb. but i wouldn't call it the smoking gun. it could just be someone messing w/ script to make a box follow a player around then someone just blocking some attacks. he is fighting a bot afterall, and they'er pretty damn predictableOriginally Posted by We.the.North Go to original post
my question is if you're going to go through the trouble of writing an auto-block script, why not just make an auto-parry script? one is far my useful than the other
I have a little marketing story for you. A long time ago, there was an "All in one - Muffin Powder". The customer only had to add a little water to the mix and put everything in the oven. The sales were incredibly low because people didn't like it. It didn't "feel good" being told they weren't good cook, that it was all just an "all in one" powder. Then, the company decided to force the customer to add by themself an egg to the mix. Suddenly, just because the customer had to "do" something, sales rocketed through the roof.my question is if you're going to go through the trouble of writing an auto-block script, why not just make an auto-parry script? one is far my useful than the other
It's a little bit the same with the auto-block programm. From what I've read, the program automatically matched the block direction and always input a counter-guard break. However, there are 2 very interesting part to the 3rd party programm :
#1 : The player has to input "parry" themselves. It's rewarding for the player, just like adding an egg to a powder mix.
#2 : The player has the option to instantly turn off the 3rd party programm. That way, they can play normally until they get tired of facing a superior opponent and "switch on" the auto-block program when they are down 50% life vs that opponent. Kindda of an "in your face" move that just requires you to press F12 or something to activate.
So ya, the point is not to make the programm do everything for the player. It's an "assist" programm that will give the player a huge edge in fights. I think my stats are decent (top 10% on most areas) and the matchmaking system might be putting me with players of higher than average skill. Maybe that's why I'm seeing souspicious behavior more often. Like I said, I give the opponent the benefit of the doubt to be extra good at blocking, but sometime when everything seems "scripted", it's fishy.
well it's an itneresting theory, and i do agree that some people want to have to "earn" their victory. however there are also those who want it handed to them. so there's a market for both. in fact i'd argue that most people who go through the trouble of installing any kind of auto-script program, would likely be of the latter school. either way, w/out seeing a script that auto parries, i'll remain skeptical. blocking and cgb (especially cgb, i mean it's INCREDIBLY rare for anyone to gb me, even feinting something like a pk zone) are pretty damn easy. i'm not great at this game, and i only ever do half my dailies (the ai half), however even i manage to block almost all pk attacks. if i do get hit by a fast attack from pk it's cuz either a. i was attempting a gb. b. i was attempting an attack. or c i missed my parry window.Originally Posted by We.the.North Go to original post
which circles back to my main point. if i was ever confronted w/ a program that was similar t othe one shown in that video but was parrying every pk zone/fast then i'd be inclined to believe that hacking programs exist. or i suppose if someone was to personally express a testimony to having had first hand experience w/ it. until then i maintain my initial belief
i apologize if i'm coming off as argumentative. i'm just skeptical by nature and am not convinced that auto-anything scripts exist. at least not full proof ones
Always nice to this exact statement from a Senior Member on EVERY THREAD - so constructive - a never ending pleasure from the creative mind of MassiveD.Originally Posted by MassiveD. Go to original post
