I'm surprised they didn't use the item wheel from Splinter Cell: Blacklist. It was a really well-designed system in which it was easy to select what you wanted on the fly instead of having to cycle through everything in a line. You could also select your preferred vision mode (night vision or thermal), so no having to cycle through night vision to get thermal or cycle through thermal to turn night vision off, and choose between lethal or non-lethal melee attacks, which would have been a great mechanic in GRW.
