Hey is anyone else finding Counter Guard Break to be inconsistent since the patch v1.03
Now I know it was broken since release, and that v1.03 was supposed to fix it, but I've been finding that even though I'm trying to counter earlier on my Peacekeeper, that I'm still getting guard-break abused by classes like the Orochi, Warlord, and the Warden.
To recap, I'm just curious if anyone else is having a similar issue or if it's just me right now.
I've been having trouble with it as well. It just seems hit and miss, but then again I don't think I'm all that good at it. But it seems my GB gets countered often as if they have extra time? Seems like I have a shorter window (which I'm sure isn't the case, just seems that way). I've tried practicing it against bots and it seems to work fine but when I get into a MP match I can't seem to nail it.
yeah i notice this too, i ended up reverting back to trying to break with the original release timing, as breaking early is really inconsistent.
i also find it annoying that still if you both guard break the one you did it slightly earlier gets a free one. i like that they made it so if you do it at exactly the same time you bounce of each other. but thats rare, usually one is slightly before the other, you should still be able to break.
I don't think it's necessarily a bug or a glitch boss man. It might just be something that needs fine tuned with the numbers on a character by character basis. Just something feels really inconsistent.Originally Posted by UbiJurassic Go to original post
I'll forward it to the team to look at.Originally Posted by Rhodri331 Go to original post![]()
if you hit it too early it isn't that bad, you can keep pressing it and it'll kick in. Being late ruins it though.
Best way to burn the action/timing in my brain was to practice with the lvl 3 valk in practice mode. (she forces you to block quickly and is predictable as to when she's about to use guardbreak)
There are people doing shady stuff like cancelling guardbreak which will render you vulnerable if you tried to counter-guardbreak that.
You can't cgb after being caught while dodging.
You can't cgb if you've been parried prior to the gb.
You can't cgb if you just whiffed a gb.
(probably other situations that are not coming to my mind right now.)
it becomes less of a struggle and more of an automatism once you train it a bit.
Rarely ever have to push the button more than once, eventually.
