The guardbreak after shove is indeed counterable, as any other possible followup. He is fine in 4v4, but he is really lacking in 1v1 situation. Part of his problem, he got lowest damage numbers in whole game right now. Less than Valkyrie. So he is slow and doesnt hit hard unless you nail the unblockable top heavy after light parry. Slow guard change stance means he got even more problem vs fast characters than usually.

Exactly: very low damage + attack speed, guard break after shove is insanely easy to counter since you have a 2 second warning with the shove animation, and slow stance change speed and counter damage FOR A COUNTER ATTACKER. He's really good in 4v4. Everything else he is one of the worst.

Guy seems fine to me honestly. He's a defensive beast. In a team fight he can just paralyze you as good as the Shoguki by flipping you while the team beats the crap out of you. His combos are decent and his shove goes into all the combos. Shove goes into an unblockable guard break that gets you a good hit. Plus you parry into unblockable guard break.

What do people want him to have? I'm just not seeing what he is missing.
Sorry to piss on your parade, but you're wrong. The following Guard Break is very "techable" (i think it's called).
His combos are slow and telegraphed, even when stunned you can easily see where he's aiming.

Lastly, GB after parry is a gamble at best, half the time it doesn't reach the target, then guess who gets the free GB.

Well, I wouldn't say you fail at life, however the following GB is completely counterable, so if you fail 100% of the times you just suck at CGB. There's nothing more to it.

They are 100% mechanically counterable, if you can't do it, it's on you.

I main Lawbringer, and I have to admit that I felt the same as the OP at first. I was doing fine with him while leveling up, and once I learnt to chain a shove after a heavy hit I was able to destroy people with crazy combos...

...but then I leveled some more and started being matched against higher skilled players who are more familiar with the overall game mechanics/my move set and all of a sudden my success rate plummeted! Started to have a really tough time winning 1v1s, particularly duels, and would often feel useless against fast attacking assassins, unable to keep up with their speedy attack direction changes.

I'm definitely at that point now that I understand why people are calling for a buff. And hell... if it's a buff to my main, who am I to complain

    "Shove/GB cancel"?
    What's that supposed to be?

Not trying to be a condescending jerk.
but rule of thumb is if you're a below average player, don't use personal anecdotes and disagree with the consensus and the pros because you get bodied by a weak character doesn't make him good.

unblockable gaurdbreak? i mean if he had such a tool, then i'd agree with you. It would definitely fix what's wrong with him.

I'm saying there isn't a problem with the current state of Lawbringer. He isn't nearly as bad as the Valkryie was. His combos are decent. He can lock down opponents and deal punishing blows with parries. He can counter and disable like he is supposed to but a lot of people want him buffed. If he truly needed a buff that badly we wouldn't see so many Lawbringers. Before Valkryie got buffed I was pretty much the only Valkryie I'd see out of ten games.

I'm just curious what people WANT buffed on him because I don't see where he is really lacking.
Play him against a good player and you'll see what he's lacking.
