What's the point of shotguns right now with stagger reduction?

First i'm not saying that it was in a great state, but the problem seemed to be more that it could due full stagger at long ranges and mainly with the SGS (the magazino shotgun one) due it having better accuracy than other shotguns and tighter spread and fastest reload, while other shtogusn while have increased damage does not posses the magazine size, reload and accuracy of it to compare in a quick burst damage situation, now if shotgun players were able to win fights because they made the oponet unable to fight back, not because they did such damage that would punish players at close range, if the stagger is getting nerfed what's the point of using them in PVP and possibly PVE, i have used all kinds of shotguns in all kinds of builds since the game release and if someone just say that you should only use shotguns with a very specific build i gotta ask why does that does not apply to other weapon types? why would i use shotguns right now? give me gameplay reasons don't just throw because it's fun because if it's not balanced then we have a larger game problem that should be fixed

I agree that each weapon type needs to be effective within its own niche, but the way shotguns were previously performing was ridiculous. Having your reticle jump to the sky repeatedly until you are dead was one of the most broken mechanics I've ever seen. Shotguns in this game should be similar to how they are in pretty much every other game: absolutely lethal at extremely close range but not very effective outside of that. How you make that fit in a game like this with a longer than typical TTK, I don't know. But how it previously worked was broken and needed to be addressed.

IMO shotguns need a SMALL dmg buff and stagger reduced but not removed.

Shotguns without stagger will still be strong the only difference is now you ain't gonna be able to spam your way to victory without the other player landing shots on you.

Really? One of the guns that have the fastest time to kill atm.. 3 shots and a player is dead with strikers. Yes it needed that nerf, its to much.

All things considered, the changes made do not have to be the end of tuning for shotguns.

Right now, we felt the stagger effect was too dramatic to give the other player a chance. If in the future something more needs to be done on the shotgun, we'll adjust from there.

There is no point. We're back to having only two viable weapon types and four viable weapons which are assault rifles, m4 or famas, and smgs, mp5 or mp7. Shotguns will need a huge damage increase if they're expected to be viable without some type of utility.

This is my main concern, why take away (reduce) the stagger on shotguns when that was their skill, like smgs have chc, ar has armour damage etc.
I think it will kill off the shotgun weapons.
I kind of understand it for PvP but for PvE it's ridiculous.
You remove most of the stagger effects in weapons and skills for the player, but not for the NPC.
When are they going to remove that stupid stagger the player does when getting hit by a golf club or shield? You honestly can't say that effect isn't dramatic.

Thats bull.. Shotguns can kill a player in 3 shots.. With strikers, they already are strong...
