Yeah, this issue drives me nuts. Leaves and small, twig-sized branches will stop my rounds, yet enemy AI can spot me hiding in the very same bush - even while I'm fully concealed, in the prone and in the dark... and they don't miss. Ugh. ALL these issues need to be improved.

I was really hoping these problems were going to be addressed in update 2.0. Oh, well. Here's hoping Ubi takes care of them in the next update.

I did technical support for two and half years, and worked in dev for two years, along with testing. Good bug reporting makes all the difference.

I noticed I can shoot through leaves with the P416 assault rifle with suppressor, and I have a feeling that goes for the rest of the rifle class. It appears just to be sniper rifles, although I'd need to test other rifles as well.

I don't have an issue with it, looking at real life ballistics and how brush can effect projectiles. What irritates me is how brush and fences seem to have little to no effect on hostile AI who have almost pinpoint accuracy. Brush is a form of concealment therefore cutting off line of sight, except for the AI. AI doesn't need line of sight apparently. XD

So we can fly helos through the top layer of leaves, but bullets are a problem in the Clancy universe. Lol.

Really good point. It just happened as I was testing sniping. They were completely shrouded in bush, I couldn't shoot them with the sniper rifle, switched to assault rifle and mowed them down. I didn't see them coming, and they couldn't really see me, but knew exactly where I was.

    Might as well be.

Changed to L115A3 and the added penetration shoots through leaves. It's a bit pointless to have leaf obstruction to be honest. The major difference between the M40A5 and L115A3 is the range. Each mil dot on the L115A3 is worth almost double the range of the M40A5, at least shooting up farm guards. I'll have to test it on level targets. I just got used to the oldie, but it'll depend on obstructions.

I'd just like to add that shooting through chainlink fences sometimes works, sometimes does not. It's not about shooting through the holes at all. Sometimes you are shooting perfectly through a hole and none of your bullets come out the other side, while the NPC is able to shoot through the fence just fine. It's ********, but it doesn't happen at all times. I'll try to get recording.

Same goes for leaves. Sometimes you can't shoot through certain trees or bushes and the enemy still can even with SRSA1 rifle, but sometimes your bullets go through just fine. It's very, very very frustrating. But it happens far more often with chainlink fences than it does with leaves, in my experience.

Leaves and chainlink fences should not have the same physical effect on bullets as steel walls do.

There are definitely issues with object penetration in GRW. I'm on PC and I encountered several situations where bushes and grass has blocked my bullet--not close to target but very early after firing. Bullet simple explodes mid-air without any obvious obstacle in a way.

What I have confirmed is that you can not shoot through certain camo fabrics that are placed around mounted weapons in enemy camps. This is clearly see-through materials that should not block bullets at all but I could not kill enemy soldier from 100 meters with starting sniper rifle with or without silencer. I tested this on 2 separate camps last night and both times camo fabric was impenetrable.
