At least let us know if you're gonna use them or not, so we can uninstall the game if you dont.
They are not, for several reasons.

The game is built around their own P2P code and it would be too significant a change, that would not make more people play the game, as long as the gameplay issue persist. Down the line perhaps - but not this year.

While this is disappointing to hear, you're wrong about the "that would not make more people play the game" because there are AT LEAST 20K people who've stated they'd buy the game on the principle that it uses dedicated servers. For as long as this game remains P2P, there will always be issues that Ubi can do nothing about, like Lag Switches, Hosts rage quitting and halting the game, or even ending it (ending the game can be fixed) but halting it cannot. There is absolutely no good reason for P2P in a highly competitive game such as this where every MILLI-FRAME counts, and mismanaging even one of those can spell out your death and in P2P, thats going to consistently happen.

The game is dying primarily due to P2P and I can ASSURE that the player base would spike up REALLY fast if they used proper dedicated servers... Look at Rainbow Six Siege, 20-40K active players DAILY, this game hardly has 10K... Like seriously, name a full priced P2P game that has been successful in the last 5 years, you probably cant because every successful game uses dedicated servers, and why Ubisoft decided to go with P2P other than their own selfish and greedy intent...The world may never know, what I do know is Ill never buy a single one of their games again with the other 40K people who learned their lesson after this release.

While I do love the core of this game, allow me to go get it refunded with the other 30K people and add to the dying player base simply because of P2P Notworking. I guess this is what I get for trusting a greedy publisher whos repeatedly lied to their consumers, ignored them, deleted threads and blocked comments because they don't wanna hear negative feedback (which they deserve for all the shxt they pulled) then respond with obviously low excuses like "The player counter is malfunctioning and has been removed from the game"

    With all respect Ubisoft...

While connectivity is a major issue that may limit some players access to the game (and thus should be a high priority fix) I do not believe it is the most important issue currently. It is very frustrating to drop and to have issues starting the game, but it is more important that the game is fun while you ARE able to play it. In most game modes, there are two issues that are currently preventing this: Matchmaking and Gear. Hero balance is a long term goal, but to be honest, there will always be some level of imbalance and/or "rock paper scissors" aspect to how particular heroes fight each other.

Currently, the combination of gear and matchmaking is making the vast majority of content (playstyles via different heroes) unaccessable in this game. Once you have leveled a character, any other hero you may be interested in learning is locked behind a hellish slog to get gear because you are constantly matched with other players that have a highleveled/geared character. While on the surface this may have seemed like a common sense approach, the players aptitude with the new character does NOT match that of their skill with their high level character. This is present in all games with heroes, don't get me wrong, but this game already has a very sharp learning curve. Having your opponents use a hero they are not only skilled at but also has maxgear (meaning they have more attack and defense) makes this steep curve basically a vertical line. It makes learning a new character a punishing experience that is utterly unenjoyable.

Furthermore, if you do use your main character and are matched against players who's gear score is a level of magnitude below yours vastly cheapens your victory. There are some players that are VERY skilled at the game, even on new characters - players that may very well have beaten you handily if there was an even playing field. This reduces fun even on your main character and is very unhealthy for the game.

Lastly: being effectively forced to use one character to succeed may to repetition and boredom which hurts player retention.

There is one fix for this that I can suggest, and I'm sure others have put it forward as well: tie matchmaking to individual heros. Keep a separate elo for each character as a stop-gap fix while you work on the balance of gear. In a game that is meant to be entirely skill-based, it is what needs to be done. It is possible that skilled players may overcome others that are entirely new to the game -- but that is how all current players started. The entirety of your playerbase rose through the ranks, fighting people that were at times more skilled and at other times less skilled and so long as there is at the very least an appearance of an even playing field players will be more content than they are now.

Another point that could greatly help your game: produce 3 more heroes this year and drop the ridiculous idea of patching in 2 at a time. As we all know, heros are stratified into different classes and there are three factions; producing 2 at a time is an amazingly horrible idea because of this. With the current plan, one faction will not receive it's iteration of the first dlc class at the same time as the others which will make players that favor that faction feel left out. YES you can play whatever character with whatever faction but that is not the point -- people have stronger attachments to particular cultures and that is not something to ignore. Some people are enamoured with the samurai as a concept, others like the idea of brutal vikings or gallant knights. While this is perhaps more of a flavor issue, it is still a slight against your players. This problem is that in the second patch of the year it gets even worse: while the faction that was left out at the initial patch finally catches up, only ONE faction will gain access to the final class of the year! This leaves the other two factions to wait several months before gaining access. This may skew player populations if it seems that Ubisoft has a favored faction OR that a particular faction is more dominant leading to a snowball effect. While a natural occurrence... this can also decrease the fun/enjoyment of players that remain in the other factions.

It has been MANY years since I've picked up an Ubisoft title because of the general practices of the company, however For Honor is an interesting concept to me and I thought I would give Ubi another chance because of it. I play For Honor and for the most part I like the game; it has great potential. That said, if the several issues that plague the game aren't fixed Ubisoft will not only lose me as a player for this game, but for all future games.

PS. This is speculation: I don't know if you were intending the hero release schedule to be tied into season rewards (like the 1st place and 2nd place factions got theirs first) but for the love of god I hope that wasn't the plan as this would further insult the playerbase of the 'losing' faction at a time where you need all the goodwill from the community you can get.

What i'd like to see, as a console player, 60fps. Cut down on particle effects and other less important eye-candy and it should be possible in all game modes, but most importantly in the various duel modes like Duel, Brawl and Elimination. As it stands on console all one has to do is pick a fast class and spam light attacks ad nauseum with a few almost unreactable guard breaks for some extra free damage. Requires little skill to do, but amazing reactions to stand up against.

At least on PC its more about skills, and OP heroes, than just spammage.

60 fps, now please. Before For Honor is just another dust collector in most peoples shelves.

for a competitive reaction based game 60 fps is a must, i hope they make it and then make cross play avaliable so we can grow the player base (and get matches faster)

If you were one of the developers/artists who worked on this game, I'm terribly sorry that you work for the greedy sacks of human garbage you do, it's an absolute shame that such a potentially new and innovative game was put in the hands of a company that makes EA look like Goodwill. If all of the dev members who worked on this game were to quit ubisoft and become independent, I can guarantee you would develop a MASSIVE following. However, if you're simply a representative who's job it is to misdirect Ubisoft's paying customers because they're too busy bathing in the money we showered them in, please swim in battery acid, your value as an individual is a disgrace to our race in the same way your bosses are.
