Console gaming on For Honor is currently more or less hopeless. Light attacks are more or less about prediction rather than reaction with alot of heroes, same with GBs. So all one see in Duels and Brawls are people spamming lights with Valks, PKs, Orochi, Kensei and Nobushi. Warlords just spam headbutt instead... Conqs spam shield rush... Wardens spam lights and shoulder rush... And pretty much everyone spams guard breaks.
I grant you, I am not the fastest... Dont think anyone who works a tough job for 8 hours before they get to play would be. But just watching a stream of For Honor on my PS4 from someone playing on PC, it seems like all attack indicators stay up for about twice the time... All of a sudden, attacks are react-able. Compared to when playing on the same console, where most of the above are almost instant, indicators flash once and then its to late to do anything about it. Unless one predicts or gets lucky, valks and pks can get 1-2 free attacks just from the sheer speed they attack at... And unless your thumb is on the GB button its almost impossible to counter a GB.
Or I could just turn the UI off and learn all animations :P, seems easier than reacting to the indicators.
I'd gladly live with less eye candy and higher FPS... One barely notice all the nice stuff aside from animations anyway when fighting.
60 FPS on consoles please Ubisoft!
//Granted, higher FPS would ensure the turtling issue instead... But that is probably easier to solve with balancing.
However, in anything other than a 1v1 or 2v2, consoles would not be able to handle 60 fps, the fps tanks below 30 as it is. You are asking for something which may not be even possible for these consoles.Originally Posted by Drachdhar Go to original post
Could cut down on the eyecandy in 4v4s... Less pointless effects everywhere would ease the burden quite abit. Or more optimization.
As it stands, the game is just not fun on console. Unless one enjoys pressing the same two buttons over and over with no strategy involved, which admittedly alot of people seem to do. But it will result in a more or less dead game in a few months. Already a ton of players have left on both console and pc.
And granted, its in 1v1 and 2v2 where one needs high fps the most. Just pointless playing Duels or Brawls and facing ultra fast characters. Face a PK, Valk or Nobushi that is decent and you will never win... Hell does not even have to be decent. I just faced a player who was pretty damn good, I managed to beat him on his Raider and Lawbringer with my zerker, not that hard for me. He switched to Nobushi and there was little I could do, range and quickness in combination. Attacks that are so fast that getting a 3 hit light combo is almost a guarantee at this FPS, hell even the kick is pretty fast and less telegraphed than on PC. Switched to PK, a class I have next to no experience with, and I managed to take him/her out with little issue just by spamming light attacks.
A newbie with PK should not be able to beat just about anyone with ease, just because their attacks are next to impossible to react to. And I was able to do this with someone who parried my zerker attacks on a regular basis.
This is due to the low FPS, and well PK being ******edly quick (along with Nobushi and Valk on consoles).
A ubisoft community representative already took notice of this issue in another post but it's great that more people make posts about the issue. If we can get more people active on this topic and flood the forums with this issue than the dev team will surely do something about this. If you want to learn more about this i made another post discussing the problem http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...mpetitive-play
I know right, incredibly amateur. Why the heck would they sacrifice gameplay over graphics I have no idea. What made them think it was okay?! A competitive game based on reactions running at 30fps. It blows my mind...Originally Posted by Egotistic_Ez Go to original post
Well I'd even be fine with it running at 30fps if it was designed for it, but it's not. You only have to look at the patch notes, everything is done is milliseconds, not frames like normal fighters.Originally Posted by GamingBotanist Go to original post
