Original Ghost Recon XBOX Player from 2002
Been a longtime Ghost Recon fan from waaaaay back.
Here is the old website if you care to look. Sorry, hasn't been updated in 8 years.:

I must say I played a bit of this the other night and really enjoyed it. I played on the "next to hardest" setting... so I think that contributed to the enjoyment factor.
I am thinking that the no-hud option will increase my replay enjoyment.
I approached an airstrip in the woods in my ghillie suit. Saw the targets and figured out my own approach point and strategy. After completing this rual-mission I used night vision to wander on foot into a sleeping town of baddies triggering the next mission. It gave me a tingle up my leg.
I remember the "old Ghost Recon" replay value even with the quirky map and team settings....

Except that now we have more autonomous 3 soldier AI team with no soul switching. With a bit of "tolerance" for all of the features DEMANDED by the market like pretty HUD that gives you too much information and idiot-proof red DOTS on the enemies. Another example: carrying TWO PRIMARY WEAPONS is so ridiculous. Anyone that has actually had to handle a rifle for any length of time knows you can't carry TWO without a significant loss in effectiveness.
That is quite an irritant to me more than anything else in games. To my SHAME I find myself using each of the primaries though, so I am well aware of the "fun" factor of carrying two primaries. Shame on me from using both!
Even so, it is reminding me a bit of original Ghost Recon except that is OPEN WORLD with smarter accompanying AI. Sweet. That is what I was looking for in this game.
No ick seal of approval for Wildlands yet... but so far I had fun.
