It's down to luck if he survives or not, so no matter what you do, you have to replay this until you get lucky. Please, fix this crap. It's sad how you make the same mistakes in follow and escort missions across all your games.

Is this the one where you have to make sure he gets to the airport safely in his little jeep? If so I just finished this one and man are you right! I was contemplating multiplayer to see if it would help. Took me about 10 restarts to finally get the bastard to the airport. He kept getting out of the jeep to either become roadkill or run around aimlessly trying to find another car even though his was still working. When I did finally beat it, the bastard gets into the airport, out of his car and walks around by the heli. Gets back in his car AGAIN and drives around inside the airport for a minute before it finally gave me credit. What a fiasco that one was.

Ditto, I just completed this recently and it's further exacerbated because the player has to be the driver, meaning that we have to rely 100% on the AI, and there's already numerous complaints on here about their situation awareness.

The mission was easy. Beat it first try. Rethink your strategy a little and you'll get it.

There's not much you can change with strategy, as the NPC drives all by itself. I already tricked him into using the humvee instead of the normal mission vehicle, but you still have to get lucky. Your squad doesn't have nearly enough firepower and precision to take down all enemies, so all you can do is spread chaos and hope he makes it.Originally Posted by CasinoHunk Go to original post
If it's so easy, put your money where your mouth is and make a video showing us how you beat the mission a few consecutive times on the highest difficulty. Should be no problem if it's all about the strategy.

this mission is a first try mission, totaly easy ....
as long as u just stay behind him in a short range nothing happens ....and he easy gets to the airfield ..

My first try was a failure but at least I got a picture what to do. For second try I used an EMP drone on his car, this gave enough time to kill some narcos down the road, and the rest was piece of cake.

Set game mode to "ARCADE" (I normally play on advanced and found this mission to be near impossible)
Steal his open top jeep soon as you get to the area.. drive about 100m down the road and jump out..
Run back and get in the pickup that's there (stops him taking it)
He will FINALLY get in the Humvee..
Follow and use your vehicle as a shield.. ram bad guys off the road whereever possible, slows them down a lot.
Done
Only took me about 20 attempts... sheesh. What a painful mission.

I remember this mission. Me and my buddy did it on 2nd attempt in advanced mode. We just followed him in a helicopter. Not sure if we were just lucky or the enemy AI just didn't spawn correctly.
