A drop of positivity in the ocean...
Just wanted to congratulate the teams behind this title. I was excited for it since it was first shown years ago and have been following this title up until release. I feel like this must be Ubisoft's biggest world yet in terms of usable space, perhaps beating even AC4's map. I'm sure the team spent a lot of hours working towards this release and that it was a relief to see this title finally published. I told some of my friends about this title as launch was coming upon us, what it was about, what it was trying to do and some of my closest friends decided to give this a try.
Two of my closest friends are now absolutely in love with the game and we're constantly playing together. Crossing the road can seamlessly transition into an epic chase if a convoy crosses our path at the wrong time, a pretty harmless incursion into a Unidad compound in search of a helicopter can lead to a thrilling escape down hill as enemy forces give chase, tactical incursions into Sicario mansions lead to serendipitous moments of perfect execution and even cookie cutter base invasions can provide us with exhilarating moments of stealth, and action if things go south and we make our best to improvise and mitigate the Cartel's upper hand.
In terms of experience, this game delivers: it's an arcade emulation of tactical action that lets us play soldier in this huge open box with multilayered gameplay systems that allow us to engage with the fantasy of being a soldier in all levels, from just getting our feet wet to going full tactical in Extreme difficulty. The experience isn't perfect, but our enthusiasm more than makes up for it.
Now, in terms of imperfections, the game has its fair share of bugs. Vehicles don't accelerate properly, cover can stop working at any time, drones & binoculars can stop working, enemy choppers can blatantly clip through terrain when engaging in AI behavior, enemies overlap on the map.... The list is big, no denying that, though I'm sure that's the result of your ambition for the title.
I hope I can count on you guys to patch this game, so it can stand the test of time as a casual cooperative shooter I can always come back to with my friends.
Thanks for the hard work!
@ Everyone else: if you have similar success stories in playing with your friends, I'd love to know them... Wanted to gauge how well this is doing with the casual audience!
