Hery guys... some classes like valk, conqueror or warlord got the superior guard in to the atacks, and the assasins got the deflect (evade at the same direction that your enemy attack)... How do i chose if i should do i attack with superior guard / defflect or a parry when my enemy attack me??? the pary followed with a GB + heavy attack looks better and with more damag, so, what is tehr eason to use deflect or superior guards???? sind all of them got a small window to land.
thx alot
I am playing Valky and parry is the go to tool. The reasons are simple, more damage, more consistent, more options and it is always the same timing too.
But...i also use the other tools but only as a tools. It usualy looks like an accident if i parry someone or deflect a light.
(Full guard is obv something i do on purpose vs a revenge pk or nobush that will most likely spam zones)
Parry is the best option on every character except for arguably the Zerker, who gets a GB automatically from deflect.
You get more guaranteed damage and deal stamina damage and have the potential to 1HK with a throw by going with the parry.
With the zerker I don't think he pays stamina for his deflect GB. So the trade off with him is that you don't pay for the GB in exchange for missing out on the parry's stamina damage. Which could be beneficial if you are already low on stam.
A parry is the best option for almost every character except indeed the Zerker. Although, using the parry as Zerker is a good option if you are not that close to the ennemy.
With Valk however, all options are equally as good:
- the superior guard with the light counter-attach allows to to start chains
- the Shoulder Pin after a deflect grants you a bleed and the option to go for a Spear Sweep for a knockdown and guaranteed damage
- the parry opens up to a GB (even with heroes with good range like Kensei or Nobushi)
