Okay, I game on pc a lot. I have had experiences where my cpu may be running a little hot at times. But this game takes the cake.
MY PROBLEM:
This game runs my cpu temps to the mid 90's (in celsius) until it eventually reaches 100 degrees and ultimately crashes my pc. My pc has crashed three times now because of this. This is the only game this has ever happened on. On most games, my cpu package runs at about high 60's-mid 70's. On For Honor, my cpu temperature averaged around 76 degrees celsius. The same can be said about other recent games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and Grand Theft Auto V. My cpu is an intel 4790k at 4.0 Ghz. I use the stock cpu cooler that comes in the box. But I do not believe that is the issue as this is the only game I have had overheating issues on. This could be some strange case of unoptimization, but I have not found anyone else with this issue. Any guidance or assistance with this issue would be very greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That's too hot. Is the CPU fan at 100%? You can use HWMonitor to see hardware stats. If it's not use Speedfan to set your own curve, it should max at 60. While you're at it check the CPU core voltage, it should be under 1.20v
Do synthetic tests replicate these temps? Download Cinebench R15 and run a couple times. HWMonitor will record the highest temp. Other examples include Handbrake or even Ashes of the Singularity benchmark. You'll likely find it reaching similar and higher temps in these apps
Reapply thermal paste and consider an aftermarket cooler. With a screwdriver and any CPU thermal paste (Arctic Silver is good), use a guide to apply the thermal paste. Aftermarket coolers come in all form factors and are inexpensive. 90C is too hot and prolonged use will slowly damage the CPU
